Did somebody fly out of luton recently? I have a trip on the 1st and have been seeing posts about how busy some of the airports in the UK have been. Thinking I might need to show up even more than 3 hours before my flight.
This. Earlier in the year we missed a flight by a couple of minutes due to this
Took my partner to Luton last week at about 5/6pm and she said there was no issues
I know you mean the airport but I find it funny someone saying no issues about Luton in general
You won't be able to check in 3hrs before your flight with some airlines. Don't go that early.
The fast security at Luton is a godsend if you’re late
Travelled from there a couple of weeks ago, early morning flight - I was surprised how busy it was but no issues because of it in terms of getting through luggage check in etc. The only issue was that all of the food/drink places were rammed so nowhere to sit to have breakfast. Honestly though it was as smooth an airport experience as I have had for a long time.
I flew the Thursday before last in the morning. It was fairly busy but no delays at all which was lucky as I was late.
Meet and greet at luton is great. Just park and hand in your keys. Get a barcode which you take a picture of.
Getting there 3hrs in advance of your flight will be sufficient. More than likely two hours will be enough.
2 hours is usually OK but go a bit earlier as its holiday season and add a budget for your airport snacks!
I’ve not shown up to Luton more the 2 hours early recently. I’m usually closer to 1 and a half hours before time.
If you’ve not flown for a while/flown from there give yourself all the buffer you want, but 2 hours should be more than enough.
Flew out at the weekend. Easy, walked through the door 2:10 before the flight. Still had time for lunch.
Drop off point is still near the roundabout at the hotels, allow an extra hour i would say. we flew out last week, my flight was 6am
2-3 hours is good but yeah just got 3 to be safe you never know
Only thing to be careful of is since the 2nd car park burnt down drop off takes a lot longer at busy times and there’s a longer walk to the terminal as well
