Hey everyone!
I was wondering, can ocd make you think you like someone that you really don’t, even in the slightest, not in a romantic way, but just in general.
Like if there’s a person you just truly don’t like at all, can ocd make you feel that you do, especially when your mind has been all over the place and it’s been extra tough, and you’re just kinda burnt out? And can it first make you feel this weird “calmness”, but then it goes straight to anxiety?
Not looking for any reassurance, just honestly curious. Cause I’ve seen it being mentioned for false feelings of attraction, so I was wondering if it can even happen outside of anything like that, and then make you worry about it.
Cause sometimes I notice that it happens, especially when it comes to anything that doesn’t align with how I’d normally think.
I think the way it works is not even ocd but like the mind itself tries to do a lot of what ifs. It wanders to try and test different thoughts and feelings. If you pay no attention to the wandering it continues to wander but if you pay attention then it zooms in and keeps thinking about that topic….. people with ocd can’t filter these thoughts naturally and end up fearing and making the mind hyper focus on these thoughts. I’m not a neuroscientist or anything but what I’m trying to say is Litterly any feeling and thought can be brought to you by this way.
If it’s not in line with what you value. It’s not worth your time.
