Today I switched my pharmacy from Shoppers to an independently owned one. It was the final step in my permanent boycott. I live in a relatively small town and fully committed on May 1st. Feeling very grateful for this community and its organizers.
I bet the independent pharmacy appreciates you more than roblaws ever did.
I am so excited to see what their service is like!
Honestly, the ball is just getting going. I hope this is the beginning of the end of Galen.
And that idiot Charlebois. I'd love for him to eat his words.
I finally switched from Shoppers to Costco. $12.99 dispensing fees on a $6 prescription is asinine (I really only found out when I forgot to update my benefits information).
Costco: $4.50 and guess what. They DELIVER it to you for FREE.
What service are you getting from Shoppers for that price?
Edit: Costco line not a question.
I am keeping my prescriptions at SDM as it's small outlet where they actually answer the phone when I call, I get a discount and I like and respect the Pharmacists at this one branch. I buy almost nothing else at SDM.
By pure luck, a great Asian Grocery opened near me in April, so I am buying more stuff there. I still buy a few things at Superstore, but I am spending about half of what I did before.
That's great! The spirit the boycott is to open up our options and really take a critical look at the choices we are offered. You're awesome.
The Asian Grocery is awesome! But thank you.

This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords responsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean.
