I just watched this episode ( after many years) and I was struck by how much Caroline and Charles didn’t seem too broken up about their grandson’s horrific death. Caroline didn’t seem too upset over the loss of her best friend either. Presumably a few days later she’s in the kitchen cheerful as can be! Dr Baker referred to Alice as ‘the body’ when discussing her burial with Charles by the remains of the fire. It’s was so impersonal.
When Mary woke up and Charles and Caroline came to see her she was saying ma?, pa? , why didn’t she ask where Adam was?
Why didn’t Mary take the baby right when Adam said there was a fire?? She just leaves the baby😫🤦♀️
