It's actually pretty common, it seems, at least reading around here. Windows and its utilities struggle at doing something that is exceedingly easy to do natively from the Linux command line in at least three ways. Everyone says Windows just works. Okay. Go make a Live USB with Windows, without downloading something to help.
i only successfully made a windows live usb once. tbh Ubuntu just works rn plus windows is going down.
If I were forced into Windows and had to make boot media, I'd pray that the device had a DVD burner. Even that is a big enough annoyance in Windows.
The last time I bought a new computer, it had Windows on it, which I wanted to nuke right away (and did). I booted into it, and it had some burning utility on it. It wasn't very intuitive, at least I thought not, and checked online. Some early variation of a spam blog had two pages of instructions on how to burn an ISO for the package. I ended up right clicking on the ISO and it had a burn option in Windows.
The first thing I did upon installing Linux was go to that page and leave a comment for the moronic author about getting a clue before passing on advice.
