Stupid question...Help

I was watching Crimson Dawn's video about their proffie core install and I have a stupid question.

I noticed some of their switch midsections (including the one I just bought from them) have no screw holes above or below the charger port hole and button hole.

Are those necessary to ensure the security of a core during spinning/dueling? Or would the one on the back be sufficient?

My last saber (a prebuilt SNV4 pixel saber) didn't have screws in those spots, so I'm leaning towards it being fine, but before I commit to a proffie, I want to make sure I have the right switch midsection for it.

Creating account for Forcepark V2 app

I have the Android version of the app. To create custom blade effects, it's requiring me to sign into an account, but I'm not seeing where one can create an account. Am I missing something?

Pinout diagram for an SN Pixel V4 Pro?Help

My darksaber came with whatever the correct name for the SN-Pixel V4 Pro is called and I would like to replace it with a Profieboard. I can easily find a diagram for the Profife, but not so much for the SN-Pixel. Anyone have a pinout diagram? Thanks!

My Review of The Graflex Shop

So... after learning some years ago about the Graflex 3-Cell being a super old camera flash, and being the core piece of the Skywalker Lightsaber prop, I had begun my search for a vintage one. Unable to afford a vintage, I stumbled upon the Lightsaber Discord, which led me to The Graflex Shop (TGS). Excited to have finally found a place that sells THE most accurate Graflex replica around, I jumped in and after saving a bit, put in an order for a TFA/TLJ Graflex Saber Kit. But oh boy was this anything but a good experience.

Before I begin, I will say that one of the two big things that would have made my experience with TGS better is if their website had more specific, clear information regarding lead times. The other being literally any improvement on their effectively non-existent customer service.

Anyways... I placed my order mid-March for the TFA/TLJ Saber Kit, with "Partial Assembly" option selected. At the time, the "Graflex Saber Kit" page had a line of text reading "PREORDER / April 1st" above another body of text indicating a lead time of "2 to 5 days." It also did not explain how assembled "Partial Assembly" was (and my multiple attempts to get an answer never got an answer). Keep in mind that NOWHERE on the site is it explained what the "PREORDER / Date" line means, nor is their shipping and refund policy actually accessible. Just a dead link that goes nowhere. At most, I got a short version of it from their Etsy page, which says something about a "restock fee" for refunds (a practice I firmly believe to be extremely predatory for any business to have, especially when it gets applied to an order that you haven't even received yet).

So I placed my order, and expected it would be processed by April 1st, and ship out a week later, as anyone would expect reading what was on the item's page. So multiple times through April, I attempted to contact TGS through email and Facebook, being met overwhelmingly by bot responses, brief, unhelpful replies and estimates on ship dates that were ultimately false (multiple times) when someone actually got back to me. This continued through May as well, as I saw the page update to say "PREORDER / May 1st", and then finally in late-May, update to "Limited Stock".

Then after giving up on asking for updates, on April 29th, I get a shop app notification showing a USPS tracking number originating in Center, Missouri (TGS' location). Four days later, USPS still has not received my order from TGS.

Now, looking at the item's page, it now reads "Limited Stock" and a lead time of "20 days to ship your order." Also, it now reads that the Saber Kit comes completely unassembled.

With all that said, here's what I think:

Product Quality: 8/10 (loss of 2 point for extremely minor inaccuracies, particularly the bunny ear rivet being a well-hidden, reverse-head screw, and the GRAFLEX stamping being ever so slightly off, which is most likely to prevent them from being passed off as genuine vintage clamps).

Product Descriptions: 4/10: While every item's page does a great job of explaining what it is, TGS is extremely bad at clearly relaying accurate or understandable information regarding lead times and shipping times.

Customer Service: 1/10: Honestly deserves a 0/10, but at least they responded (eventually), and answered (some) of my questions (and not very well at that).

For a company claiming to have been around, and in continuous operation, focusing on making and selling ONE thing, for 25 years, you would think they would have become MUCH, MUCH better at doing business by now.

So I will leave you with this: DO NOT BUY FROM THE GRAFLEX SHOP. And if you have, and experience the same infuriating things that I have, just save your time and money and cancel, or do a chargeback if they try to steal a "restocking fee" from you. You're better off grabbing the new 2024 Graflex from Korbanth, or from 89Sabers.

Vintage Graflex selling advice

Hello everyone! I am currently selling a Graflex on Ebay and I was wondering if you could help me defining an accurate selling price. It is a vintage Graflex Inc in very good condition, with a vintage bubblestrip from a real Exactra calculator, and the grips are made using GIno T-Tracks and have been installed using Wannawanga grip alignment tool. The rivets and D-ring are both from Wannawanga. I don't really have an idea of what would be a good price for it, so I would be grateful for any help! :)

Help!! First time updating and configuring a proffie 2.2 board, so confused...

I've made a copy of my config and error message and started a new thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/lightsabers/comments/1d6khwq/help_arduino_compilation_error_exit_status_1/

So, this is my first time trying to setup a proffie saber. since there has been so many updates and changes to proffieOS and Fett263's configuration tool and bladestyle editor, every walkthrough I find for updating my board to OS7 and adding presets to my board is very different. I don't want to ruin my board by screwing this up, so I have a number of questions:

(For context, the board is currently running proffieOS 6.5 and has very few "good" soundfonts installed, and I'm not too concerned with editing/creating bladestyles, I'll just use those that come with particular soundfonts I have found.)

**If there is a current, easy to follow guide or video somewhere that will walk me through the most up to date way of doing this, that would probably answer all my questions. Fett's videos are hard to follow and his guides seem to leave parts out or assume you already did something that he never explained...**

  1. Do I need to connect my proffie board to my PC to do all the updates with Arduino or can I just use an SD card reader and do everything through that, then put the card back in the saber? (Figured this out, obviously I do)
  2. Should I be adding soundfont files to the SD card BEFORE I have Arduino install and configure OS7 or AFTER? Or does it not matter?
  3. The whole "functions" aspect for presets is horribly confusing. And there doesn't seem to be any explanation at all that I can find. Some of the bladestyles I try to paste into the presets give me errors saying that I can't use functions unless I set them up. So i ended up just removing all the lines that start with // in the style code. That seemed to work, but am I ruining the style by doing that?
  4. Most guides I've found show using Arduino to actually go in and manually edit the presets and styles by copying/pasting directly into the code. But that seems redundant if you are using the configuration tool to generate the entire config. Am I missing something? Do I need to be using a text editor at all? If I use the config tool, do I need to do any manual editing in Arduino? In Fett's video at https://www.fett263.com/updating-your-proffieboard.html for step 4 he does it all manually, but other videos he uses the helper tool. Also most of his linked videos are from 1 - 2 years ago, which makes me think they're outdated. I'm just...confused.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

Saberforge help

Hey all, I got my custom built saber for Saberforge this year. I’m obsessed with Anakin and want the soundfont closest to his saber. I have the golden harvest soundboard. Right now I use “Ominous” but it doesn’t sound quite right. Does anyone know which one it would be. Let me know if you need more info as I’m very new to this! Thanks!

How to tell what type of saber I've bought?Help

I recently bought a replica Revan saber at a collectible convention from a vendor that isn't on the usual list of suppliers here. I'm having a tough time working out exactly what type of blade I have with this however. They mentioned the hilts either coming with a base lit blade or a Xenopixel blade, with the one I bought in particular being a base lit only model.

Having seen the different types of blades that exist however it seems like the blade I have is closer to something like a Neopixel rather than a base lit as I've got far more colour and motion options than what was advertised with a base lit. Is there any effective way to work out what type of blade exactly I've got when purchasing from a vendor like this? I'm currently having no issues with it it's just nice to know exactly what I've got so I know what I can do with it
