Kpop idols with non-idol friends

TLDR; How many k-pop idols, specifically foreigner and young, have/hold friendships with others that are not idols…🤔 (wouldnt it be harder for them to make non-idol friends after debut since they could be used)

I know this may sound a bit strange, but I have a genuine question. How many K-pop idols, especially the younger ones like NWJs, actually have friends outside of K-pop or their group, particularly foreigners? It seems easier for idols born in South Korea to meet their friends because they both live in South Korea, but for foreigners, it's more challenging due to distance and their busy schedules. I also mentioned younger idols because school is usually the place to make friends, but if their focus is on being an idol it could be hard. Sometimes I think about becoming a K-pop idol myself (just a delusional most likely won’t happen LOL), but I don't have many friends anymore and often feel lonely. If I were a K-pop idol and saw my fellow members or other idols having friends while I'm alone, it would be difficult, you know? I’d feel a bit lonely or left out lol. Also I feel like after being an idol it would be harder to make non-idol friends because you could be used.

We don’t have a good idea since the idols generally try to protect their non-idol friends but they definitely do have them whether from school or otherwise. I vaguely remember an idol doing a vlog (maybe Chaeryeong?) with a non-celeb friend last year where the friend’s face was hidden the whole time and many other idols have mentioned having non-celebrity friends.

Yeah I get that, but at the same time I’m speaking specifically on like idols who are foreigners and young like maybe NWJs? But yeah ik Leeknow has shown his friend on camera before

I think it applies the same to them. They did go to school at some point. Minji did all of high school almost and even Hyein went to middle school. I’m sure they made friends there.

Maybe for the foreigners it’s a little hard to stay in touch cause they’re far but some foreign idols have posted pics with friends from home/mentioned meeting up with them when they visit.

Hori7on Marcus is the first one that comes to my mind. He is a kid, a foreign idol in Korea. I remember on their interview, the members said Marcus is the member who cries a lot because the training is hard and he misses home. I’m pretty sure they hangout through mobile games. Their leader mentioned Marcus was the member who always sleeps late because he’s playing mobile games 😂😂.

A lot of idols will still keep in touch with their non-idol friends, they're probably either too busy to meet up in real life or are reluctant to share interaction photos out of respect for their friends' privacy (esp. if they're non-celebs).

B-Bomb of Block B runs a Youtube channel with two of his friends, one of whom is a fellow singer (Park Hyunkyu of VROMANCE) and the other a model (Baek Seungmo/Vaek Seungmo). Jaehyo has introduced some of his non-idol friends in a Dalla livestream. P.O occasionally does theater projects with his high school friends.

One of my moots has a younger sibling who was classmates with BoA in elementary school. According to her, BoA showed up to a school reunion event a few years ago, the first she's done in decades, and started reconnecting with her old friends (I presume she used to relent out of privacy or security reasons). She showed me a selfie the sibling took with BoA & a photo of BoA and her friends in the school album (the latter was taken right around the time she became a trainee at SM, so she was really young).

He was raised in the US (LA area) when he was young (from 6-12 yrs old?) & he will point out his friends in the crowd when AB6IX have concerts in LA & they come to see him.

He also hangs out with his non-idol friends in Korea. Usually people from his school days. Fans find out when his friends post their pictures with him to social media or he mentions in PMs to fans that he hung out with them.

I remember when Wanna One came to US, he went to hangout with them and they went to karaoke. 2 of his friends also came to the concert and it's cute how small Daehwi was in between his friends
