That looks a lot like a leopard.
What kind of a putz goes on an African safari, gets close enough to photograph an active kill, probably using an expensive camera set to Auto...... And they can't tell a cheetah from a leopard?
This kind. 😮💨
Later on, OP went to an exotic restaurant and ordered a hamburger.
OP hasn't commented on their own post nine hours later despite the criticism.
OP is most likely a bot and hasn't ordered any hamburgers recently.
but it looked like a hot dog stand?
I'd probably do this as I love burgers from nice restaurants
Yeah…I’ve been on a safari. You see a ton of cheetahs. None of them are THIS muscular. None of them climb trees. Cheetahs aren't active at night…but leopards are.
I don't think someone who actually has been on a safari would mix these animals up. Even seeing a leopard is rare and special.
It depends where you go on safari - some places don't have tons of cheetahs. You're spot on with everything else, though! We were on safari and there was a leopard maybe 100m away, 15 feet up in a tree taking a nap and you could only see about half of it. There were roughly 30 vehicles stopped to see that - leopards can be a big draw!
The expensive camera put on auto got me lol
The photo screams auto
Well, I thought the big cat was eating a lobster, so I guess someone like me, but rich.
Nah def not auto because the exposure is absolutely blown out. What a terrible photo.
Exactly what I thought not auto just overexposed
Claiming it was a cheetah sure generated a lot of engagement though. Just saying.
Tree Cheetah
Yup... 😆
Treetah
Yea this guys a bot or something lmao. Guaranteed that this isn’t their picture
Just a fat cheetah
Well spotted.
For a split second I thought that was a giant centipede (I’m running on no sleep) and was utterly terrified that there’s a bug that big. Then I realized it’s just ribs and the world is right again.
I thought the exact same thing lol
Glad I’m not the only one!
Same here
Same
Me too lmao
I’m wide awake and even I thought that was a giant house centipede 😂
My first thought was, " Man, they have really big bugs in Africa!" 😆
I’m pretty high right now and I felt my skin shutter when I saw that for the same reason!
- shudder
He’s pretty high right now, give him a break
He just wants his babybackbabybackbabyback
Maybe we're all giant rib centipedes that invade all the actual humans being born
I thought it had snagged a prawn from District 9.
I, too, feel a great sense of relief and joy when I find out there's ribs.
I saw the exact same thing
I mean. I thought it was a giant lobster for a brief second and I had to ask myself “how the hell did this thing get its mits on a lobster?”
I thought it was the world's largest crawdad, lol
I’ve had enough sleep and double checked.
Yeah me too. I was like "what the hell is that shit?" then I realized it's just the remain of an animal.
I came to the comments to learn what the kill actually is. Totally thought it was a giant centipede, too. And I’m well rested!
And i thought you thoight that the cheetah was the centipede, guess i also need some sleep huh?
Looks like a weta to me.
i thought it was some kind of mutant lobster
woop woop woop woop
Absolutely the same here
I thought it was a roach 🤣🤣🤣
Don’t feel bad, I thought it was a giant cockroach.
yeah, that was briefly horrifying LOL
I thought it was a Big Australian bug until your comment enlightened me.
Same😭 I was terrified
Same
That is a leopard. Very cool though.
Lol maybe the cheetah is the kill
It happens quite frequently. A very sad nature is metal post.
Take my sad upvote.
That is a leopard.
That flash must be so obnoxious to a cat at night.
Damnit, can't I eat dinner in peace just one night??
- The
cheetahleopard, probably
You flashbanged the bastard
That’s a leopard and his name could be Leonard.
The "Cheetah" looks pissed that you took a photo of it while it was eating.
Exactly, using a flash on wildlife at night is widely regarded as a dick move. Only a selfish, ignorant photographer with no respect for nature / art would consider taking a picture in this manner.
And it’s not even a pleasing image, the foreground is blown out vs the rest of the frame, and the subject is clearly distracted by the overpowering light. Instead of capturing the brutal majesty of a predator enjoying their spoils, they made them look like they’re a suspect on COPS who just got rolled up on by a patrol car.
Widely and rightly, I would say
Sir that is a leopard
Was this a Chinese safari park? They’ve mislabelled your Leopard
What is it eating?
Ribs
Looks like maybe some grapes? Those could be grape bones.
A spine
Maybe the cheetah?
That ain’t a cheetah. For one, it’s not the coloration of a cheetah, and two cheetahs aren’t strong enough to carry such large prey up a tree. That’s a leopard.
Bro is blind forever
That’s a leopard
Surprised it didn't come after you with that flash of yours lol
I can see the flash from here
Leopard
"Fuck your flash!" -Leopard
Since no one has mentioned it yet, that’s a leopard…
not a cheetah.
Ah, nice tree cheetah..
*leopard
It’s a leopard
That’s not a cheetah
That’s an odd looking hyena
That leopard is a total cheetah.
- That's a leopard.
- You flashbanged the poor bastard. Flash photography at night = disruptive for the animals.
OP, why the hell did you go on a safari when you clearly have no idea what you're doing.
No flash involved. The guides were using spotlights
PSA... not all big cats that are yellow with spots are cheetahs...
Flash! Photography
That is not a cheetah

What the heck is it eating?
Where were you at? Incredible pic!
No you didn't, because that is a leopard.
It’s 2024 you bastards.. if it wants to identify as a fucking walrus it can!! Chester the cheetah 🐆 here we got your back and so does the lmnop spirit realm group too
Nothing like leftovers for those late night munchies
FYI cheetahs look like they are crying so this is a leapard, but this is a great photo!
The comments are so Reddit, pretentious LOL. Everyone give your Cheeto fingers a rest for a second for the sake of human error. This person seen this shit in person while we’re home doing mundane shit. Still cool.
cheeto
Cheetahs eat xenomorph? Ya learn something everyday… 🤔
Pretty sure that's an antelope with a herring.
No, you did not.
🤦 ya almost had it
Cheetah????? Huh? That's a leopard. I'm baffled you took this pic and don't have a clue of what you took a pic of.
I thought that was a really big centipede 😭
That is a leopard. Not a cheetah. Both beautiful, galaxies apart from one another.
The photographer isn't a keeper, but a cheater. Does it automatically.
A leopard never changes its spots!
That’s a leopard.
This doesn't follow the rules of the sub.
What did it kill and eat on one seems to wonder what it killed
Definitely not a cheetah… wondering if OP even took this picture now.
Absolutely a cheetah. We were in Zambia on safari.

respectfully, the photo isn’t that great technically. due to the flash (asshole move btw, bright flash on wildlife), the leopard is so overexposed. the prey is a bit blurry. like it’s a cool pic but i think it needs some editing, maybe some cropping too
We were on a safari and the jeep drivers were using spot lights. No flash was involved and we were in a moving vehicle.
Big cat go prrrrrrrr
I thought it was eating a Giant cockroach, I was so worried. I was so focused on what I thought was a cockroach I didn’t even notice that was a leopard.
Do we know what the animal was?
I got no clue what that carcass is, I just see just ribs and a spine. That’s possibly a head at the bottom but with only seeing what I assume to be the bottom of a jaw in such a degraded state it’s impossible from this range to identify.
My brain can't unsee a cockroach
Wow … surprised you were able or even went out after dark . When I was in Tanzania and the Serengeti, you and driver would get in big trouble if we were out of our compound after dark . Cool to see , tough you had to use a flash . Always amazing to see the true life of the wild . 🐆🐆
The game reserves don’t have the same rules. In the national parks, you aren’t allowed out after dark
That’s cool , I was literally out in the wild , so rangers hit you with big fines if you n guides aren’t inside the compound . We didn’t do a game reserve , hope you had a fantastic trip . It was literally life changing . Amazing seeing the animals in their own home and environment. 👍🏻
I used to live there
Did he catch a radroach?
that's what I thought too lol
I think you took a picture of a cheetah dry aging his kill.
Just gonna say it one more time! That's not a cheetah it's a COUGAR.
Jaguar
I thought it was eating a giant centipede for a sec!
bro was hungry
Wow it really didn't waste one bit of flesh
Uhhhhh, it’s got spots.
