This is the best answer.
Soundproofing is a major job that costs an insane amount of money and time.
Exactly, and OP would be better off spending the money on his musical equipment.
If he has a practice amp it probably already has a jack for headphones.
You need to isolate the sounds you're making from the structural members of the building you are in.
Rip off all the drywall, insulate the walls, and rehang the drywall using soundbars, which are bits of metal that hang the drywall away from the studs.
OK, that's a lot of work. Just hang more drywall over the existing wall.
Thats still a lot of work. Staple up egg cartons everywhere. (This is actually a reasonable, if ugly solution, if you're not trying to cover bass notes). On that note, just turn down the bass on your amp. It's bass that carries through buildings.
Good luck, bro, I fully support your practice time.
You missed an important step: make sure every single hole gets sealed up. Low frequencies propagate through stuff like walls & floors, while the highs pass through the air.
Rip off all the drywall, insulate the walls, and rehang the drywall using soundbars, which are bits of metal that hang the drywall away from the studs.
I did this in my condo because the upstairs is a rental and we've had some loud neighbors. It wouldn't have been feasible normally, but a fire sprinkler pipe burst during a deep freeze and I had to replace it all, anyway. Insurance covered about 3/4 of it.
Rock wool/mineral wool/Roxul insulation combined with 5/8" drywall and hat channel (sound bar) suspension. My current heavy-footed neighbor doesn't make thump noises now. I can still hear her walk but nothing like before. I just wish I could do it to the bedroom, too. Very creeky bedsprings and thank god she's a single old lady.
I’m going to assume you are using an electric keyboard, in which case there is a 99% chance there’s a headphone jack somewhere on it. Other people in the house are sleeping? Headphones.
You can find a relatively inexpensive audio interface device like this that will plug into an electric guitar and a set of headphones and/or your computer. Instead of playing through an amp, you play through your headphones.
This is assuming you’re playing an electric guitar though. If you’re playing an acoustic, there isn’t a whole lot that soundproofing will do; the body of the guitar was designed to amplify sound a specific way. If you are interested in buying an electric guitar, they’re cheaper than an acoustic and you can find decent introductory models like this that would work well for practicing at home.
Acoustic you can just stick some rubber near the bridge. I'm sure they probably make professional mutes too, but I've never looked or seen one
I know for my violin I have 2 different kinds. Ones like a little rubber bootie that goes over the bridge, makes is quieter but still decently loud. But I also have a heavy metal one that works the same way, doesn't stay on as easily, but cuts the volume by a ton
However depending what exactly you're practicing, that may not be a solution. Since it can impact dynamics and stuff
If both instruments are acoustic, nothing you do will be 100% soundproof and will be somewhat expensive to extremely expensive anyway. Thus "the juice won't be worth the squeeze" in your case.
If both instruments are electric/electronic then the answer is clear...headphones on the amp.
Search up heavy curtains, look for something called boron. It is a heavy element that, when added to certain plastics, makes it denser. You can hang up a boron sheet and set off an explosive in one room, the guy working in the other room won't hear it.
Look up "how to make a home recording studio"
It is basically the same concept
The key is to deaden between the walls for isolation. Or you can make a dog house to put your amp in with a mic in it for recording purposes. My room is acousticly sound proof or Dead no echo but I'm in an apartment so I can't deaden between the walls...🤘
Violent masturbation is back on the menu, boys!

I bet you could find a cheap but decent electric guitar at a pawn shop or on OfferUp
you have 5-10k and a month to gut your room to isolate?
If not, headphones
There are sound proofing foam panels that you can buy, some even decorative. And army camo netting type stuff, like for shade, provides some sound barrier and comes in a lot of other fun colors besides the basic nature and military ones.
Without renovations? Go electronic. Don't use a physical amp. Wear headphones and monitor through your computer instead.
