This was the one to really push to keep.
Man this one hurts the most, was really hoping we’d keep him. His impact on the fourth line can’t be overstated. Montour, Stolarz and OEL you could see coming. Really felt like we could’ve kept Stenlund.
Same here man. Our PK def gonna suffer from this.
He finally got a contract worth something. Happy for him. Way to go Stenlund
Excellent penalty killer. Florida will regret not paying him.
I already regret it, man
Fuck this was the one guy I thought we definitely should’ve extended besides Reinhart . Absolute beast on the pk
I remember when we had a defense
Literally a week ago
Literally yesterday!
Literally 3 hours ago!
Gonna miss him, great on the 4th line
The fuck? How did no one outbid that? Big , right shot center in his prime, that wins faceoffs, is fantastic on the PK and solid all around. And just won the Cup of course.
This one has hurt me the most so far. If he was on the ice, I was instantly out at ease.
FUCK. ✊🏻😔
Part of me is salty all these moves are being made while the Yotes are gone, the other half is excited for the new fans that will actually get to watch a good team
The worst part is that this was the plan the entire time. With most of the dead cap coming off the books this year, we wanted to start competing. I'm following the Utah team, but it's just so sad for the fans in Arizona
Agree. I'm unbelievably excited to have an NHL team but it is a bummer when any fanbase loses a team.
Utah flairs when?
Gonna miss Stenlund, 4th line improved so much with him this year & he has good PK value
Stenny is a beast. Get that bag buddy. You deserve it.
That is CRAZY that a couple years ago he was a depth guy on the Manitoba Moose and now he's making above minimum. Good for him.
Fuck. I wanted us to keep him. PK beast, great bottom six center.
Why didn't we keep him. He was such a key 4th line piece
We have limited moneys. We were bound to lose some guys. Wish we could’ve gotten him back but I wish him the best.
just not a lot of space for all of them. it was inevitable
Dammit, really was hoping to re-sign him. Dude's a stud on the PK and taking d-zone face offs. Great bottom 6 forward to have
Dude absolutely earned the pay increase. Was a major reason behind our improved PK. Great at faceoffs, physical and big. Excellent 4th liner. Really hurts to see him go. Utah got a good one
Good depth pickup.
I don’t like Utah now :(((
Know what? Coming from most NBA franchises treating the Jazz as a farm team? I'm enjoying that Fanbases are feeling SOMETHING about us. I'm still sorry for your hurt.
Utah making several enemies before they've even gotten a proper logo lmao
So far:
Arizona (obv)
Colorado (mad about Yeti and Lacrosse)
Calgary (Tij Iginla)
Boston? (Cole Beaudoin) (maybe?)
Tampa? (Sergachev) (maybe?)
Florida
The “maybe”s are flairs that I’ve seen say something akin to “fuck Utah” for the respective reasons, but not much since.
Just another thing in common between panther fans and flames fans
I do like Utah now. They've got Kevin Stenlund.
One guy I was really hoping we’d keep around
Jets legend
Was hoping to keep him but good luck and get paid!
This off-season has to be the most fun Armstrong has had in years now that he has an owner who is actually able to spend money.
Take care if him Utah, dudes a beast in PK
He's not in Seattle
Damn im illiterate
😂
He's good on the PK but also has one of the worst penalty differentials in the league - a PK specialist isn't as valuable if he's in the box half the time. I'll miss him but not that much.
L take.
It’s not a take, it’s a statistical fact
Except you missed all the other stats. Like his line not allowing any goals in over 30 games, 89% face off wins, leader in shorthanded min, leading the team in hits, and that massive save in game 7 without a stick on tkachuks penalty.
Massive L take.
That's not worth $2MM, sorry
Totally worth 2 mil with Lomberg gone and hopefully Cousins gone. Kraken obviously thought he was worth it. Stenny is a casualty of Rhino who I think we overpaid by 1 million. We wanted him.
Fuck
Rare misstep by Zito here. Bad move.
I agree
Killed a PK with no stick in Game 7. Legend.
