Question for those on Phentermine

Hi!

So I have been taking Phentermine via Henry Meds for almost 2 months now and feel great. While I’m not sure how much I’ve lost since I don’t own a scale, I have been able to fit into smaller clothes, people have been noticing my weight loss, and I of course have noticed I am smaller in certain areas. I will probably try to weight myself soon, it’s just that in previous weightloss attempts I have become obsessed with the numbers so I wanted to try something different.

I know someone mentioned that after 3 months you have to ‘take a break’ before Henry Meds will prescribe another round.

I just didn’t know if this was the case for anyone here? I know some doctors who do prescribe it longer than the 3 months before a break. Just curious if that is 100% the process or not.

First off, Congratulations! That’s great to hear (both about the progress and about the focus on changes beyond just the numbers on the scale).

In regards to the medication break, it depends on the provider and patient’s treatment history. Phentermine is great but people can build a tolerance to the effects and so sometimes providers will have people take a 30-day break to prevent that so that it can stay effective over the long run 🙂

I am at the end of the 3 month prescription for Phentermine. I just had my last follow up and they didn’t mention if I was going to get another refill or not. I just figured it would continue. The provider did not mention if I needed a break or not. Do I have to reapply? How will I know?

I’d suggest contact the care coordination team by phone or email, they can look into the Rx record to see.

How long did it take to receive the meds after you signed up? Did you physically have to go to a doctor for any checkups?

I know this post is old but do you mind sharing your experience with what happened in terms of billing for months 4-6? I'll be at the end of my 3 month prescription in 4 weeks but my auto draft payment date is next week. I'm wondering if they are going to bill me despite not having any refills left. And if so, will it be refunded if I have the appointment with the provider and they don't prescribe a refill? I'm reading elsewhere that the $150 is the cost to talk to the provider and the meds are "free" and I think that is ridiculous. Anyway, thanks for any info you might have

Hi! Random question! But can you tell me if the phentermine is a white tablet with blue specks? I saw a video of someone saying they got their phentermine from Henry and the capsules were definitely not phentermine so now I’m worried that it’s compounded with something else which I don’t want. Thanks!

So you went through Henry meds, how much did it cost? If they gave you a prescription for 3 months, did you pay $150 a month?

Did you have any side effects when taking it? I only used it once and I had to stop due to intense heart palpitations. It also gave me a headache. It did help to curb my appetite the one time I used it but I couldn’t get past the heart palpitations.

I did a little in the beginning but they went away pretty quickly.

I did feel a ‘rush’ so to speak, but here’s the thing- I’m a two cup a day coffee drinker with an occasional shot of espresso or energy drink in the afternoon.

Since I knew heart palpitations might be a thing, I skipped coffee my first few days of taking it and cut down to one cup a day after that. But now two months in I’m back to my regular two cups a day.

I’m also someone who has dabbled with pre-workouts and things before which can also happen with that.

Did you take it with lots of water/food in your stomach? That can actually make a world of difference while adjusting.

Did you lose a lot of weight on it? I’ve been taking their sublingual semaglutide and lost nothing so far (been a month)

Just seeing this now! I’m still on it and doing pretty good, aside from I still bloat and have cravings around my time of the month.

In total I’ve lost about 30lbs. I’ve been eating mostly healthy but I have not really worked out. I’m trying to make more of an effort now and hoping I will continue to see some results from that.

Firstly, congrats on your weight loss thus far!! I was just curious as someone who is currently just researching phentermine & Henry meds.. when you went through Henry meds, did they give you the option to buy for multiple months in a row? I know I’ve read on here that some clinics/doctors (some telehealth, some in person) gave the option to fill a script for greater than a month but was not sure if you knew if Henrymeds has that option? Thanks in advance for your time & help!

The prescription is based on the provider’s medical judgement so there isn’t a set policy here, but often I will see a 30 day Rx with refills, so it has to be filled (which is something the pharmacies we work with handle) in 30 day increments, as Phentermine is a controlled substance, but the actual clinical visits are every 90 days, again all depending on the provider’s course of treatment.

Both are Phentermine, either as a tablet (white with blue speckles) or as a Sustained Release Capsule of Phentermine.

You’re saying in the 90days you lost 30Ibs and only with a clean eating diet, no exercise? I’ve been extremely interested in taking the leap and doing it myself, 40Ibs would be tremendous for me

I lost 25 pounds in 10 weeks. I just had my followup for months 4-6 bc I am still feeling great and no major tolerance to it yet. I have not been exercising but plan to incorporate that now, as well as building up other dopamine boosting/appetite suppressing activities to replace what phentermine does when it comes time to stop taking it. Rebound weight gain is extremely common for people who quit the drug with zero plan of action. I am not going back. I refuse to be fat again. That lumbering, slow, hard to roll over, get up from the floor, reach my feet feeling is GONE.
