My garden faces south in full sun all day after about 7:30am. We’ve been in a heat wave on the East coast, but if I wait until it’s not as hot, I’m swarmed by mosquitoes. It’s a “pick your poison” scenario.

I always wear pants (sometimes leggings, sometimes scrubs), long sleeves (zippered rash guards), gloves, and a hat but I have 10+ painful swollen bites from Sunday night alone. A Thermocell helps, but it was slightly too breezy for it to be as effective. I can’t use permethrins because of our cats. Standing water control only goes so far when I’m on a street of townhomes with 1500sq ft yards and a creek on the other side of the street.
