I enjoyed the warriors, king Kong, scarface, the godfather. Are there any other games that are good but people don't really talk about?
What are some good lesser known movie tie in/licenced games?
One of my most memorable gaming experiences ever.
Even the main menu in that game was impressive!
Damn that brings up some nice memories. Gotta try to spin it up someday.
Glad to see this as the top answer
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth. You can still play them all on PC since EA abandoned it. Link below.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age for ps2/GameCube was also great. A turn-based RPG that follows the story of the movies - it’s really well done
The first one even has footage from the movies
Peter Jackson's King Kong ("the official game of the movie")
Masterpiece of gaming
I played it back in the day and it looks absolutely incredible for a PS2 game
I was gonna mention this game! Haven't played it in ages so I don't know how it aged but I remember killing dinos with a spear and how satisfying it felt
I second this!
The Lion King on SNES makes Dark Souls feel like a Sunday stroll through a botanical garden
we had a copy for the game gear, that swing section on the first level. jesus....
I remember being a kid and when I learned the different colored monkeys could be growled at to flip their throw I blew thru that level.
Hulk for the PS2
The Warriors, The Thing, Blade Runner
The Thing was incredible back in the day. I don't think I had seen the movie before playing it. The trust factor with your teammates was pretty innovative.
the thing has a video game fuck me I ain't ever touching it
Speed Racer for the PS2
Hah hah, I worked on the Wii version back in the day... Surprised anyone remembers it!
Any other games that you worked on?
A couple of others at that company - Sidhe Interactive, I think it's known as PikPok now.
But yeah I've worked on quite a few now - FarCry 3 and The Division are probably the biggest.
Thanks for your efforts on FarCry 3, the best of the series and a certified classic
Thank you, glad you enjoy it!
Car fu! That's how I define the movie and tie-in game.
Alien vs Predator arcade game
Alien vs Predator for Atari Jaguar!!
mad max
Not so sure about that. It was fun at first, but it gets extremely repetitive. For example, literally every boss is exactly the same.
It's a real shame, I think that game had a ton of potential but they wasted it.
My problem was that the car combat often boiled down to slowly circling each other.
You know that crummy version of The Mummy from 2017 starring Tom Cruise? There's a tie in game for it called The Mummy Demastered which is pretty darn good. Plays like a Metroidvania.
Made by WayForward!
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone for GBC, it was a turn based RPG and you could also collect chocolate frog cards. Sooo good.
Middle earth games
Pirates of the Caribbean on the original Xbox. It was actually going to be Sea Dogs 2 but then they did the movie tie in.
The game was awesome. Minus some issues with freezing and crashing. And now it has a huge modpack on PC that fixes everything, and adds tons of new features and it's one of my favorite games.
The first Buffy game was good for some reason.
Wolverine by Raven Studios. It was awesome.
Darkened Skye, a licensed Skittles game for whatever reason.
Well, ale Fantastic Four was a good game, I had lots of fun. Also not sure, but Iron Man is also pretty nice.
That new Robocop game is also sweet, just give it a chance.
I loved the new RoboCop game!
Then surely you have played Terminator, from the same game studio.
And Rambo, railway shooter, but it had its moments
Lego Lord of the Rings! Loved playing it. One of those games that keeps you thinking, "There's more??"
Aliens Fireteam Elite-excellent nod to the franchise. Award winning OST
Too short, but was a lot of fun. Smartgunning xenos never felt so good.
No idea how I would feel about it now, but the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe game for the PS2 era was a lot of fun.
Could have just been bc I loved Return of the King so much, and the styles are much the same.
Damn that big battle at the end was fantastic.
Don't know if its well known or not, but Shrek The Third for the ps2 was fantastic.
Super Slam was nice too
I remember 24: The Game being a surprisingly good game (third person shooter for the PS2)
The Terminator 2 game for the Sega Genesis was one of my favorite games growing up. If you're into retro gaming I still feel like it holds up really well and its super fun for a weekend playthrough.
Additionally the Stargate game gear game was a solid puzzle game that barely had anything to really do with the movie.
I shoved soooo many quarters in the T2 cabinet at my local arcade growing up.
Which T2 game? There were 2, 1 was a shooter based on the arcade game and the other was a janky platformer.
Does Disney's Skate for the Gamecube count? It's just Disney milking their animated IPs and Tony Hawk Pro Skater's popularity, but it has a similar feel to it.
If not, there's the Madagascar GC game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZOPaoPIJr4
Revenge of the Sith on GBA/DS
Not a movie, but Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock. Low-budget and released with little fanfare, it’s a pretty good turn-based fleet battler in 3D (with turns resolved simultaneously). It’s set during the First Cylon War, although a DLC adds the show’s ships to skirmish and multiplayer. The two sides are pretty different, with the Cylons favoring missiles and hacking while Colonials prefer cannons and tend to have tougher armor
There was a Stitch PS1 game for Lilo & Stitch.
It loosely follows the plot of the movie, including Stitch's escape, but it's mostly a generic action game
I remember liking that Wanted game, and the watchman game is not bad either
The Wanted game was a fun little cover shooter.
Goonies II for NES
The Scott Pilgrim game got a re-release not too long ago
Battle For Middle Earth
Alien vs Predator on PC. An FPS game you play through in 3 campaigns: Marine, Xenomorph, and Predator.
Shrek Super Slam Also, as much as I hate HP/Rowling now, quidditch world cup. SOLID game!
X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Probably one of the few examples of the tie-in game being better than the film it's based on.
The Legend of Korra
Transformers: Devastation
The Punisher.
it is talked about, but not enough.
True Lies, Genesis/SNES.
The 2004 Spider-Man 2 was a lot of fun. The 2007 Spider-Man 3 for the Wii, though... some of the most fun I think I've ever had in a video game. They made the motion controls absolutely phenomenal, considering the technology available.
alien isolation is a masterpiece of survival horror tho i guess it's pretty well known
Riddick, escape from butcher bay
