This. I remember playing Mario and Duck Hunt at my grandmas house on the weekends
Same story for me. Grandma had an NES with Mario / Duck Hunt, Mario 3, Tetris, and Loopz. That was the first game system I ever played. My family had an SNES and PS1, and then Dreamcast was the first console I bought myself, that's the system that really turned video games into a passion for me.
Did you know a controller in the player 2 slot could control the ducks??

Kung fu, contra, ghosts ‘n’ goblins, cobra command, and rampage were my personal favourites.
Mario I, II, III, Gradius, blades of steel, TMNT, Zelda, Batman, EXCITEBIKE, Metroid.. so many classics. This was definitely the intro. All down hill from there.

Anyone remember/play the pac man game on the Playstation? Itwasn't just the arcade game. It was 3D and there was a full story. Incredible. That, Driver, and Gamebreaker college football were my jams. And then Simpsons Hit and Run. Oh and the Toy story game. Never did beat that one I don't think.
Wow that Pac-man game just brought back crazy memories, I was super young and sucked at 3D platform stuff but remember the art style so clearly just thinking about it.

GameCube feels like an amazing first relationship you had at a very young age. And it helped you to get involved with and manage all your later relationships. And you generally feel thankful you had such a great first experience to help you be optimistic towards the future.
But some nights, lying next to ps5, you just can’t stop thinking about the time you shared with your indigo baby. Maybe you could have done something about that broken disc reader, but you both knew it was time to move on to new things.

Same! Dungeons and Dragons on Intellivision is the first game I ever remember. I had to be 4 years old or younger, and mostly watching my brother and uncle play, but sometimes playing and then crying when I couldn’t read what it said. 😂

Supermario rpg was my first rpg, game absolutely slaps, may need to break it out this holidays and play it while sitting on the floor

The Galaxy games are downright masterpieces. They’re some of the most highly rated games in MetaCritic history.

Facts. I still have like 20 games for it. I also bought the emulated Mario party 2 and Legend of Zelda ocarina of time for 2000 Wii shop points. Remember when the Wii shop was still around? Yeah I got those two gems right before it closed. Me and my sister still play Mario party 2 like every week.
Me and my dad used to play Skylanders Giants a bunch. I still play every once in a while by myself. I remember back before Toys R Us shut down for the first time, when I did good in school, my dad would bring me to Toys R Us, and we would pick a couple of Skylanders figures. I have liked over 50 figures now. Good times 😌
The wii/ds era was fucking incredible and doesn’t get enough recognition, probably because of the whole Wii U debacle

I got the lion king sega bundle for Christmas when I was 4. I couldn’t even get to the hyena boss in the first level. Don’t even ask how old I was when I finally got passed the second level.

Yeah, got started with gaming sitting on his lap and watching my Dad play Lemmings and DOOM on our family PC. Then I got into it too with those games and was also obsessed with Descent and Descent 2 back in the day. I still absolutely love Space Sims to this day too.

I'd only played the pocket edition since then, so when my buddy let me play splitscreen multiplayer with him in TU11's tutorial world, it blew my mind. I remember being confused as to why I couldn't open the iron door with the left trigger and surrounding myself in the dim glow of redstone torches because I thought they looked cool.
