As the title states, as someone with PCOS, I have always wondered what would happen if I went through with HRT. Would it help βtreatβ some of the symptoms or would I be left with more issues?
I know one of the symptoms I deal with are weight gain or a hard time managing my weight so would HRT do anything to help me or would it end up causing me more trouble because I did read somewhere that T thickens the blood which is bad for people with high blood pressure and can leave you at a higher risk for diabetes.
Fun fact, a quarter of trans men have PCOS.
It will help with some parts of PCOS, like the weight gain (T increases the metabolism), but keep in mind that cis men have a higher risk for high blood pressure and other cardiovascular issues, and taking T makes your risk increase to the level of cis men.
All of that said, if you have healthy habits and get regular checkups, you don't need to worry about it too much.
