I don't even have the right to call it a mistake.

Because i knew I had to do it, but I didn't do it simply because I found it bothersome.

I am a student and I went to do an preflight inspection.

When I arrived at the main apron, the airplane I was supposed to fly was just arriving.

and after the student and the instructor got off the plane It was time for the preflight inspection.

But then, an arrogant thought crossed my mind.

"The plane was just flying fine. What could be wrong?"

I always inspected the planes parked there because I didn't know what condition they were in while I was away.

Even if I was busy, I always made sure to inspect.

However, that day, I suddenly had such thoughts.

So, I did a cursory inspection and told my instructor that I had inspected it when I entered the school.

When I boarded the plane, the instructor asked, "Did you really do the inspection properly?" I told the truth, and the flight was canceled.

At that moment, I really disliked myself and felt too arrogant, stressed about behaving unsafely as a pilot who should prioritize safety.

I am still stressed about it.

I am still really embarrassed about myself.

I would like to hear your experiences or your stern advice to ensure safer flying.
