Similar situation but better outcome - booking.com went above and beyond when this happened to us. Got there to be told our stay was cancelled for the second night and the host maybe could sort out for us to stay in his friends grandmas spare room? Rung booking.com, the city was completely booked in our price range (Pula in the height of summer), there was literally nothing. They paid for us to stay in a 5* hotel for the second night because it was the only available hotel in the city - should have been like £200 a night? We spoke to them multiple times and the first guy we spoke to he was like ‘I’m gonna ring you back in an hour to check that this is sorted’, couldn’t fault them
Wow. I’ll remember to use Booking.com next time. See, I guess I assumed Airbnb would have that type of customer service. But you know what they say about assuming…..😒
