This (former) judge sentenced a rapist for a max 6 months jail (free after 3 months) based on "lack of criminal history and youth", his family's wealth and the judge's same Alma Mater college had nothing to do with it
🇲🇮🇸🇨We have a two-tiered justice system in America:
One for the rich and connected, in which people face little to no consequence for their actions.
One for everyone else, in which you are made an example of in order to scare the other peasants into obedience.
What’s baffling is we all know this and just accept it beside some rage tweets online. If you are in the 1%, you have a separate “due process”.
What’s even more upsetting is this judge was widely supported during recall efforts against him. He had law professors and the Santa Clara Bar Association backing him, and he even had no regrets about the sentence. Fortunately he was recalled and that recall has resulted in judges imposing harsher sentences
You mean Alan Turner….he goes by his middle name now so people won’t know what he is
Are you talking about the rapist Brock Alan Turner?
Do you mean the rapist Brock Allen Turner? The rapist who was practicing his craft on a drugged co-ed? A co-ed who was passed out and could not defend herself?
That Brock Allen Turner?
Is this about Brock Allen Turner? Now known as Allen Turner because he was harassed so much for being a dirt bag? The Allen Turner that moved to Ohio if I remember correctly?
Yes, that Brock Allen Turner, the one who was given a token sentence for r, by former Judge Aaron Persky, because Aaron Persky thinks that r committed by wealth entitle people is no big deal.
Is that the same Allen Turner who complains about how reddit users keep bringing up Brock Allen Turner? That Allen Turner?
The same one that now lives in Ohio?
I love when judges are actually held up and punished for their shitty partisan rulings. Doesn't happen often, but when it does...
Reminds me that there are two hack partisan Supreme Court of Arizona judges that are up for being retained on the bench this year after their shitty ruling on upholding a Civil War-era abortion ban here in AZ. A ruling from a law from the 1850's, mind you, based in part on the testimony of a known pedophile, in a time where people could still legally own other people, and over 50 years before AZ even became a state.
I will be checking that 'do not retain' box this November with gusto.
Like I have been saying, conservatives care more about appearance than anything else.
I mean if he went to jail as a rapist do you know what would have happened to him. He’d have been raped. And we can’t have a system that supports sexual assau…..ohhh I see what I did there.
