Couldn’t Decide on a Charvel, so Got This Instead!
So far so good. It's light, comfortable, easy to play and it didn't really need any setup out of the box. I think it sounds pretty good running in my main setup. This is my first active pickup guitar, so that's pretty cool as well.
One complaint was the fretboard seemed pretty dry. I did a cleaning with some lemon oil and it got it looking pretty good as pictured.
I'm trying to get into some more "heavy" playing and wanted a guitar to match. I wanted to get away from Fenders, though I am putting a SD Nazgul in an Aerodyne. I find the range of instruments to have everything I'm currently looking for in guitars. This won't be my last ESP/LTD. Already looking for the next!
Remember to unplug when you’re not playing so as not to discharge the battery needlessly!
Great public service announcement.
Thanks for the tip!
You made the right choice.
I think so!
Shred city
That's the plan! Transitioning style from punkish to more technical playing. It is going to take some practice, that's for sure.
I'm not usually into strats but god damn
Yeah, it's nice! Which guitars do you prefer?
Single cuts. I'd make an exception here.
(My hands like strats but my eyes just love single cuts, it's dumb)
I was debating on getting a Fender Showmaster. Those things look sick, and are single cuts. They don't make them new, but you can find them used for a reasonable price.
Duuude I’ve been eyeing that exact model for a few weeks now! Such a gorgeous guitar!
Yeah, as soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one I wanted. Luckily, my local shop had one in stock, and I swooped in to grab it. If you can get one, personally, I think it's worth it!
But what is it? Looks perfect.
It's a SN-1000 HT fire burst, and so far it is as prefect as it can get until I need my next "fix" I mean guitar. https://www.espguitars.com/products/27447-sn-1000ht
Very cool, having trouble deciding between a charvel type 2 with fluence and the sn1000 series. Did you try out any charvels? Happy with your decision?
Looks great!
Yes I tried out a ton, but I had specs that I ultimately wanted. I wanted the guitar to be black, have an ebony fretboard and no Floyd Rose.
I was set on a getting Satin black DK24 HT E. However, when I got it, the low E string slipped off the fretboard way too easy. I Took it in and they basically said it would cost like $200 to fix (nut replacement, bridge move). So I just returned it. For some reason that just soured my taste so I didn't want to order another. I played a plethora of other ones and some played really great (honorable mention Sean Long Signature), but at the end of the day, they didn't meet my requirements. There are a couple new releases that would work, but they won't be in stock for a few weeks to a few months, so I just started looking elsewhere.
Overall I'm glad I looked else where. The big draw to Charvel as the 12"-16" compound radius. Some ESP/LTD models, including mine, actually have a 11.8"-15.7" compound radius. So after comparing the features the ESP/LTD had everything I was looking for and had a unique look so I was all in! This brand was never even on my radar before, but I will be buying another.
So if you don't mind a different shape and it meets your requirements I think you wouldn't go wrong!
Beautiful. Question - if they offered with a floyd, would you have gotten it? Just curious. I'm a VintagePlus/Snapper collector, i really wish they offered this model with a floyd.
As of right now, I wouldn't have. Mainly due to lack of experience. I am trying to transition from primarily a punk style of playing to a more technical/heavy. So, getting something with a FR might be something I look into sooner than later.
Beautiful. You made a great choice. LTDs are so damn nice.
Yeah, I'm very glad I took a look into them. Makes me wonder if there are other brands I am overlooking, but I'll be fixated on this brand for a while.
This is definitely the next Ltd I want to get. I would swap out the moderns for the Adler set though
Damn, that’s one hot LTD. I got myself an LTD also 2 weeks ago, the M-1000ms. Think the Deluxe range of LTD are about as good as you’ll realistically ever need, what you want is snother story. 😅
Nice! I played a couple M-1000 guitars. I want to grab one of those as well. Was a great play experience!
Well done young Skywalker, the force is strong with this one.
Thank you, I made the right choice, too, I think.
For sure
Hey how are the scalloped frets?
I'll have to answer this in the future. I just started working on being more of a lead/technical player. So I feel can't give you a good opinion quite yet.
Right on man, keep it up...
I have the SN1007. Was intimidated by the scalloped frets at first but to be honest I barely notice a difference with them if at all!
Nice sunburst finish
Congratulations, that is one nice axe!
Thanks, been having a blast with it so far!
I’m not typically big on that old school burst but man does it look good on, I’m assuming, ash body. Excellent choice!
It is actually swamp ash!
Good choice! I want the SN1 so bad. Minimal metal machine!!
Yeah, it's pretty great! Won't go wrong if you grab one!
I want the black one with one pickup and one knob. That's it.
I've come so close to pulling the trigger on this guitar but I can never click with active pickups. Anyone played this and the schecter xotic sun valley shredder ht?
Cool guitar. Wish this line had 24 frets.
Yeah, same. However, I decided it really wasn't that big of the deal for me, at least. I am already planning on getting a MH-1000 though. So that will fill the 24 fret quota!
What do you think so far? Love this range of instruments from Ltd
