I’m the type of person to start the document and call it “rough copy” and by the end of it, it’s a fully finished and reviewed good copy but it’s called “rough copy” and I have to rename it
First image is when you thought it was done (or at least the part you were responsible for). Second is when your boss decides you’re done or when the entire project is over, whichever comes first.
I prefer to work always on the same file and when necessary save copies with the date appended to the front in a archive folder (e.g. "document.txt" -> "2024-07-05 document.txt").
Ideally with this system you should have only one working document in the main project folder, so there shouldn't be any doubts about which file is the latest, also if it is not your project ans you're not really familiar with that.
But also colleagues exists, ready to mess with this convention and then leave it all in shambles. Sigh
There was this one project submission, the architect sent it back with nitpicks like 5 times! And it was only like a 60% submission, so freaking annoying.
