Song is Snakes by Sikdope

Sound comes in 1:16

Getting humbled by trying to make this simple sound exactly and it's annoying the fuck out of me. Sound design is difficult without the tools.

Here's a YouTube video that comes the closest to it with serum:

I've heard this high pitched pluck screech sound in a bunch of songs and thought it'd be easy to recreate in Vital, but I'm struggling to get it with dubstep bass presets and just doing stuff from scratch. I think I might be focusing too much on the speeding up and slowing down and trying to recreate that in Vital. In might just be an arrangement, I'm not sure.

I've watched a bunch of tutorials with serum usually starting with a wave table used to create fm bass wubs, and that hasn't been too helpful starting from scratch in Vital.

So far I've tried basic shapes square wave and pulse wave and a mixture of them, plus 1 voice, legato, and mod wheel tied to the pulse frequency.

Osc 1: square/pulse wave, pitch -12, fm< Osc 2 Osc 2: pulse wave, pitch 7, -16 detuned Env1: long decay and sustain, bit of release, low attack Lfo1 to osc 1 level, fm, filter 1 and 2: rises and falls on the 3 of a 16 grid Macro 1 to LFO1: to mod the changing pulse time you hear in the song Lfo 3 to voice tune: bipolar, 0.4 Lfo 2: tied to distortion drive and high pass envelope

Any helpful tutorials that can make this exact sound with that movement in Vital?
