Getting back into the game and I'm having a lot of fun with the necromancy background on the new mountain dwarf. Anyone got any tips? One thing I really do want to know is how heavy should I be willing to go with armor?

try running in circles around a pillar to confuse them
Does pillar dancing work again? I know enemies used to randomly get extra turns to stop that but the last time I played Gozag was a new and interesting thing
I haven't played since .20 but back then it was effective even with the inclusion of random energy
It's way harder now. There's opportunity attacks. You are likely to get attacked some 5-10 times before you manage to get a gap. Which is why acrobat amulet is such a good piece of gear now.
