Dealer agreed to swap out, I hope this doesn’t happen again
Dealer agreed to swap out, I hope this doesn’t happen again
people need to start posting their build date. Probably a bad batch.
Definitely starting to look that way.
I have a '24 Sport L AWD that was built in Indiana in February. 2700 miles and no issues.
Knocking on wood.
You’re good man- this is most likely Indiana only (like mine)…
is build date on the car somewhere?
Drivers door jamb will have a sticker with the VIN number, build date, location, etc. it used to be easily decoded from the vin as well (IE you could tell which week of the year) but seems to be no longer the case
Two example VINs I pulled from a dealer's site
7FARS5H50RE037244 (Hybrid, FWD Sport)
2HKRS6H54RH810669 (Hybrid AWD Sport)
First three are manudacture, make and type
2HK Honda of Canada Mfg. - HONDA, Multipurpose Passenger Vehicle
7FA Honda Mfg., Indiana, LLC - HONDA, Multipurpose Passenger Vehicle
Next 5 is Model code
RS5H5 I assume this is FWD
RS6H5 and this is AWD
probably has more for trim levels as well.
Then you have a check digit
Next one after that is Model Year R = 2024
After that is the Plant it was built in
E: Greensburg, Indiana, USA
H: Alliston, Ontario, Canada
Then after that should be sequential production number.
Not CRV sepecific, but page 5 breaks it down

Ours was hybrid sport l, dealer never mentioned it happening before but next day mentioned fuel injector and spark plug issues
This is an issue I smell a recall coming. Hopefully they solve this issues for 2025 models and future ones.
I have a 2023 gas models EXL and no issues thank god. I was planing to tarde for a hybrid in the future hopefully the solve this problems.
I have a 2019 touring 50 k miles all the light went on. Took it to two mechanics that I know personally, but couldn’t find the issue. I didn’t want to pay dealer prices however I finally gave up and took it to the dealer it all of the fuel injectors replaced
I did hours of research independently and found out that the fuel injectors are coming from the factory faulty
The good news is after bitching complaining about a $4000 bill and doing some my own research I realized I feel injectors are covered under warranty under 70,000 miles
Fuel injectors seem to be a common issue with this one

Yeah I joined this sub after my wife bought a 2024 Touring Hybrid... and now I'm freaking out.
There were over 360k crvs sold in 2023. Don’t get worked up about a few examples with solvable issues.
I wonder if there’s a recall coming
Me talking to my ‘24 Hybrid Sport-L AWD with 3k miles: “Now don’t you even think about it.”
But seriously…this is just a tad concerning. Hope people experiencing issues get it fixed without too much of a headache.
I’m at 9,000 and got mine in November. Still going strong :)
Good to hear! Got mine in February and I absolutely love it. Fingers crossed it keeps going strong :)
Same exact boat I'm in. 3089 miles, got it in December. I'm like...don't you start your shit with me girl.
Where was yours built? Mine was Ontario.
Any idea how to check?
Edit: Greensburg Indiana
Fingers crossed for our CRVs. I feel really bad for people who are experiencing these issues. These babies were not cheap :/
Last week was the first time I bought a brand new car - also the first time in my life I've needed to get a car towed home! In 35 years of driving.
I’m sorry - that sucks. That is the last thing you want to deal when driving a brand new car. Did they give you a comparable loaner?
Didn't get a loaner - but the car should be fixed now with all new injectors.
Yeah me too. It's part of what scared me away from my outback.
Hopefully they're isolated instances.
CR-Vs VIN beginning with 5 = East Liberty, Ohio, 7 = Greensburg, Indiana and 2 = Alliston, Ontario.
Good to know, I pulled out my old window sticker haha.
2024 CRV Sport Touring (Hybrid).
Built 6/23 in Indiana. Edit: This car was built almost a year ago. Acquired 10/23.
3101 miles. No issues.
How many of these have been happening? Is there a commonality? Where they’re assembled? Is this happening to American made CRVs only?
I think the commonality is hybrid awd models. I’ve yet to see a non hybrid one do this; and only a couple of 2wd.
Seems to be mainly the recent Indiana plant Crv awd hybrids
Saw at least one from Canada too.
Yep mine was built in Ontario - looks like it's the injectors but I'll be calling for an update within an hour - have to say, I'm rather disappointed with my dealer now.
What is your dealer telling you?
It's fixed now - all the injectors were replaced. I'll get it back tomorrow.
Yup- mine is Indiana (and had the issue)
Mine was built in Ohio, IIRC. 1700 miles and has been in the shop for a week with no solution so far. Just opened a case with Honda corporate
There is a fuel injector recall. I went to my dealership and they fixed it free of charge.
Do you know where this info is? The recall, that is. Are they sending it via mail?
Usually they are visible in your Honda account. Like the same place where you pay your bill?
My 2017 has this issue too! And bc it throws every code no one knows what the problem is. Gurrrrrrrrr 😡
That’s a different problem, I think. Is the engine running rough on your 2017 CRV when this happens?
When I start it yes…then it seems fine after a min or two
Same issue with my 2019 not running rough but every single light. Ask the dealer to test the fuel injector. Ours was bad and replaced under warranty.
We had that on our 2023 Hybrid - it was a bad battery (the one under the hood, not the big hybrid battery). They swapped it out and everything has been great since.
Initially the battery tested OK but we swapped it out anyways and it fixed the problem.
Oh gosh, just got a CRV hybrid sport L on Saturday. 😬
I got mine 2 months ago.. I’m a little paranoid now.
I've had a ST since March '23. 13,000 miles and zero problems. Everybody needs to calm down. How many CRV hybrids does Honda sell? A couple hundred thousand probably. We're seeing a handful of people with an issue which is probably a software issue.
Me too lol. We'll see. I'm sure its all going to work out.
me too. I have 100 miles on it. and i’m getting a couple things that are worrying me already
Seems AWD are the ones being affected
Looks like a bad batch from the indiana plant
Purchased mine last November, close to 6K miles and zero issues. Looks like a bad batch SMH.
Taking delivery of a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring AWD on Friday. First 3 digits of VIN are 7FA. Apparently that is the Indiana plant.
It’s always the hybrids. What’s going on lol
Dang, this is all over this week. My 24 ST is nearing 5k with no issues. I’d like them to recall this so I can get mine looked at just in case lol
These things have junk injectors
There are few other post here about this. Mainly on the 2024 Hybrid made in Ontario.
I thought they said it was Indiana plant
I think it’s the Indiana plant. My 23 Hybrid from Ontario hasn’t had any issues
I’ve also heard it’s the Indiana plant
Mine's from Ontario and it failed after 173 miles - probably the injectors.
Sorry to hear that. I’m at 13k miles with only an oil change and tire rotation 🤞🏻
I think the reason Indiana plant is brought up most is most are probably manufactured there for the US. US models are made in US, Canadian models in Canada. From what I understand far less CRV hybrids are sold in Canada than the US (as a percentage) due to cost there vs the US. I don't think it is "US only" models are bad, it is just that most CRV hybrids on here are probably US drivers.
Honestly I don’t know much about the issues to comment more but my car is from Ontario and I live in the US. So who knows
Can’t expect these things to last forever
Dealer agreed to give a new car? That’s pretty good
We had 2 days but we’re happy he replaced. Worried about if this will continue to happen
Ya I have a 2024 and this whole thing is so weird. Although it seems to be the ones built recently that have this issue
Built recently? 2024? 2025?
Like built in 2025
2025 what?
not all 2024 are made at the same time.
Lucky you - my dealer has been quite rubbish so far - never calling back when they promised, left it to me to arrange my own tow to collect and drop off the car and certainly no promise of a replacement car - I've only done 173 miles.
Mine was Jan 2023 Crv hybrid - 55k kilometers on it. So far so good.
I have a 2024 Touring hybrid made in Ontario in September. No issues at all. Love the car.
Just got mine a month ago. 2500 miles and no problems so far
Was your car built in April 2024 or March 2024?
April 2024 build no issues
Maybe the front radar was stollen. That’s what happened to me on my 22 hybrid CRV. I refuse to replace it, in case it gets stolen again.
Did anyone with a build date of 11/23 in Indiana have any issues?
2024 crv lx 2k miles so far no problem
I’m at 276K on an older CRV no problems
Bought a 2024 EL-X Civic last Wednesday. In the shop on Friday with this exact problem. I was standing next to the technician doing a scan and he said it happens all the time! Of course, this really made me confident and happy with my purchase. Got the car back yesterday, after they replaced the camera-thing that controls the automated road sensors. Worked fine yesterday, but I’m worried it will happen again shortly.
It’s just the battery Honda as always been cheap with the battery my Honda did the same disconnect and connected the battery and all the lights went away and haven’t gotten the lights back in over 10k miles now
Sitting here reading this can admit it's giving me some anxiety. We financed our 2024 Hybrid Sport Touring dont drive a lot and only put 1500 miles on it so far. Feel like it might be a ticking time bomb.
Just bad luck great the dealer swap you into another one. This is not a common issue it extremely rare.
How did they agree to swap, it happened to me after 2 weeks driving a brand new hybrid sport L 2024 and they told me this is not an option.
Less than 2 days from purchase, I called manager and he agreed
This is the reason why i will NEVER BUY another Honda, Period. I experienced these warning disco lights. Low battery will came up as well even though the battery is in good health. I am telling you guys these are mainly caused by Bad fuel injectors. This plague has been spreading all over including my 2018 odyssey. SMH
Wow, another one. Make me regret not getting the Tucson Hybrid.
At least they haven’t been recalled for starting on fire like the Tucsons 🙄 I would never buy a Hyundai
Hyundai will never get another dime from me after the experience I had with my Elantra getting stolen.
They have a history of cheaping out. They have recalled millions of vehicles for various DIFFERENT components that ended up being a fire risk, and then of course the whole easy theft thing…. Maybe in 10 years if they prove to be more reliable I would consider them lol
Oh totally. To be fair, my Elantra was reliable until it was Kia Boy’d, but it also only had about 62k on it. Was just starting to consider turning it into our spare vehicle when the decision was made for us to replace it entirely instead.
I even did all the stupid recalls and security update. Didn’t do jack shit.
Yes, and they fixed it. These cars are just dying all together. 🙄
they fixed that specific part. there will be another…they have recalled millions of cars over the past 20 years for all different components proving to be fire risks.
Every single car model will have premature failures. Roughly 350k CRVs are sold annually in the states. There's been a handful of cars posted with issues here.
A small minority of CRVs have these issues and will be covered under warranty. Don't let a few anecdotal examples make you believe that the Honda CRV is a paperweight POS.
This is concerning this is the 4th post I see here and is mostly on the hybrid models of 2024. What’s going on Honda.
