I just moved back to the area and I've applied to lots of places but have only received rejection so far. My most recent experience includes some real estate renovations (I own the property and rent it out) and I've been working in trucking (office management, invoicing, payroll, compliance and dispatching). I have a degree and I'm open to careers or even part time roles but would prefer not to work in fast food etc. Any recommendations or is any body looking for some labor for their homes etc? I've applied to equipment share, Columbia safety, and several property management roles.
Menards pays good for something temporary. A more serious role you'll probably have to go out of city like Jeff or something. If you want good pay almost all the manufacturers on route b are hiring
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll have to look into the manufacturers but Menards would be fun too
I believe Kraft, Quaker, Aurora and Beyond Meat are hiring. If you can get on at 3M would be most ideal.
Ive had the same experience! I moved here 5 months ago and put in 50+ applications with a few interviews but nothing. Good luck to you! ❤️
If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of jobs are you looking for? where have you applied?
I’m not trying to be nosy, I’m just trying to find out if maybe I have heard about a place that’s hiring that maybe you haven’t applied at yet.
Tons at the hospital and whatever office positions I see on Indeed.
I don’t know if have had any luck yet but I just drove by the mall and saw the Holiday Inn is hiring, it’s say to go inside to apply so that would probably give an opportunity to meet with a manager.
https://www.usajobs.gov/ for VA, sounds like you'd be a great fit for HR, Supply Chain, Logistics, etc. They have frequent openings as VA employees tend to move up in the VA after they get time-in-grade. They pay well and have great benefits.
you might also find some remote jobs at usajobs.gov, too. I'm not sure what your degree is in, but sometimes all it takes is a degree to get a GS-9 level, which is decent pay. There is a very special way you have to do your resume though, or else you'll get tossed immediately. Highly recommend using the usajob.gov resume builder to assist you.
I am pretty sure there are decent maintenance jobs with the city. Better insurance than most other places I'd think.
Try Hubbell up in Centralia.
Hey there. I am in the process of starting a senior-focused home maintenance biz here in como/central MO. I’m still getting it setup. I probably won’t have any work until sometime in March but I’m starting to put feelers out there if I come across anyone good. DM me if you are interested. Must be able to pass background check, as you’ll be going into people’s homes.
What kind of maintenance will you be performing? Sounds like like an interesting idea.
FedEx, UPS and Cintas are good companies to work for, though maybe more physically demanding. Check the University and VA websites; they always have open positions of some kind.
Wilson trailer is opening a trailer repair shop off I-70. Only thing is it won’t be open until May. They’ll be hiring service writer(s),parts clerk, repair techs.
Go get your A&P at Linn and go fix airplanes. There's a massive mechanic shortage
What does a&p refer to?
Airframe and Powerplant. The two federal licenses needed to work on planes
Thanks for the info!
Welcome back. Folks here will give you good ideas.
Frost Supply. We are always looking for new people.
Good luck! Everyone says they’re hiring but then won’t respond to applications or will ghost after one interview. I’ve looked for a part time or full time job for months in literally any field and have turned up dust.
