Her first 9b. And the second woman to climb La Planta de Shiva, after Angela Eiter.

I also have the impression there's a disproportionate amount of good climbers for such a small country. Anak, Chloé (2x), Muriel, Nico, Sean, Siebe, Seb, Simon, Hannes, and plenty more I probably missed.

Are we expected to know all Belgian climbers by first name?
You don't? ;^)
Anak Verhoeven, Chloé Caulier, Chloé Graftiaux, Muriel Sarkany, Nico Favresse, Sean Villanueva O'Driscoll, Siebe Vanhee, Seb Berthe, Simon Lorenzi, Hannes Van Duysen. And more...
Mentioning Nico, but not Olivier.
Poor Olivier. ):
I'm sorry :^(. Yes, the brothers Favresse obviously. Like I said: "and plenty more I probably missed".
Most of them yeah
Yes
maybe the ifsc should start paying climbers and running a reasonable amount of meaningful competitions if they want the best climbers to be competing
I think it has something to do with your guys' way of life. Belgium has a high quality of life index. The mind state. Belgitude. Just chill and work to live not live to work. I spent an evening day dreaming about moving there and searching the internet to learn about it. Seems so nice.
In the US I spend so much time commuting and working overtime. Then it's generally frowned upon for using all your paid time off every year but I just don't care if I get stank eye from the other guys.
What a G
I spent some time with Anak and her father in Margalef a couple of years ago. Great person and incredible climber, so happy to see her achieve something so amazing. Well deserved send!
So cool! Didn’t know much about her til I listened to her interview on the Nugget podcast, and I’ve been rooting for her ever since. The way her climbing’s an entire family endeavor seems pretty neat, and maybe a little unique.
Also, haven’t heard Angy’s name for a while—wonder what she’s up to these days!
she's raising a child so it's hard to push her limits
I hope there's going to be a video of it.
I kinda miss her in the comp scene (although sometimes frustrating to watch because she was so slow lol) but glad she's crushing it on rock. BELGIUM AT THE TOP. So awesome that my little country produces so many great climbers.
