i’m unable to take care of my chinchilla anymore. i’ve tried finding chinchilla shelters near me and couldn’t find any. i’ve posted on facebook groups but anyone interested either just stops answering or backs out. i’ve asked everyone i know and asked the word to be spread. i feel so hopeless i don’t know what to do with him. i want him to go somewhere that he can get the care he deserves but i just don’t know where.

I had been blessed on this site to find much needed loves in my life . As New Mexico has laws of buying Chins as they are listed an invasive speieces . ( Yea .. laws as done ) . In calling all around the state for months , There was finally someone close to me that posted here . One of The Best days of my _ Life to pick up 2 rehomes . A 10 hr round trip and perfect to see the land of and good music . I am like you , lost Chins and wanted for me and last Chin to have to-getherness as we felt alone . And the two new boys are well and giving me much of knowing in life as keeping me on my .. feets . With Love .

This is a great thing happening for you both ! When I spoke to the person that was rehoming the 2 boys , he had said he spent months trying to find the right one . He felt sad to let go , then our meet and talked a few times after . He knows .. that they are with a good Chin parent and Loved , makes everything better to move on .

Give a local exotic veterinarian a call and see if they know any shelters that might take chinchillas.

Edit: you mention backs out I'm unsure if they just can't ir maybe you are putting a high price to rehome a chinchilla In that case you will have a much harder time.
okay i think ill give the facebook groups another shot. also, i put a very low price on him and included cages and accessories so that wasnt the issue i dont think.
