I feel like people try to make out people who have children as selfless people, but the desire to have children is more often than not selfish. People have children because THEY want children. You could make the argument that the desire is selfless because they only desire to give the child a good life, but there are plenty of children at adoption centers for those who only have this desire. To most people this idea doesn't even cross their heads because they don't just want to give a child a good life, they want to create a child to call their own. This is selfish.

I don't dispute this, but it is still selfish.
What action would you consider to not be selfish?
It is hard to draw a perfect line but I think that desires inspired by genuine compassion lead to actions that I would consider to be not selfish. The reality is that most actions in our lives are most likely selfish and I am ok with that, but when it comes to something as serious as creating a human life i think this should be considered.
“Desires inspired by genuine compassion that lead to actions”
Can you elaborate on that? That is kinda vague if I am being honest.
