Castles of Burgundy- excellent for 2 players.
Lost Cities - Knizia at his finest
Here’s what me and the wife play:
- Carcassone
- wingspan
- 7 wonders duel
- quest for el dorado (definitely recommend for 2)
- pandemic
- Dune Imperium Uprising (complicated but manageable once you’ve got it down. Very competitive)
- Race for the Galaxy
Patchwork is still a great 2p game. Definitely a tight head to head if you both know how to play.
Onitama, star wars deck builder
Wyrmspan for a medium-light game. Boop for a light game. Djinn for a medium game. Dorfromantik Duel for light-medium game. Splendor Duel for a light-medium game.
Surprised no one mentioned Hive yet. It's made for 2 and pretty good.
Hive is so good. "Chess with bugs".
Dice Throne. It's billed as a 1v1 primarily and can be played Co-op too if you buy more of it.
I'd also say try Splendor Duel (it's the 2 P version vastly superior), Cascadia, Evolution, Jaipur, and Sobek (2P).
I play with my wife for the most part. I'd highly recommend Watergate. Incredibly thematic competitive two player game where one player controls the Reagan administration trying to cover up their corrupt dealings while the other is a journalist trying to link three witnesses to expose Reagan via a conspiracy theory corkboard map. It's great and tense with a lot of cat/mouse moments. Another lighter game that gets constant plays is Dice Throne. It's Yahtzee where the dice rolls are attacks against your opponent. Very fun with loads of characters that all feel unique.
You sure it's Reagan? ;)
Although I agree, great game for two!
Ha. I might or might not have been bought off.
My gf and I have Summoner Wars second edition, Res Arcana (2-4 players but works well with 2) and Targi.
Star Realms for a short fun game. Race for the Galaxy for a short crunchy game. Castles of Burgundy for a long fascinating game. You can try them all out for free online at Board Game Arena.
Twilight Struggle. Eclipse. Ark Nova.
a mi me gustaria jugar calabozos y dragones , se ve interesante
Ark Nova is a great 2p game.
Wingspan, Everdell, Calico, Cascadia
My favorite 2 player game is Imhotep, the Duel. Easy to learn, plays quick, thematic
Race for the Galaxy is great at 2p, especially with the first expansion arc.
Agricola also plays really well well at 2 and the cards bring endless variety.
What’s the expansion arc? Can you link me to a product page so I know exactly which one you’re talking about? Thank you!
This is the one I was talking about: https://www.riograndegames.com/games/race-for-the-galaxy-expansion-and-brinkmanship-the-combined-1st-arc-expansion/
IMHO this is a stellar deal, all the best expansions in one box. I didn’t care for the others.
You’re the real mvp thank you!!!
Splendor duel. Wonderful 2 player game.
Splendor Duel é fantástico, já lançado no Brasil e não é caro, a caixa também tem um tamanho bom, componestes lindos.
look into santorini or patchwork. santorini goes up to 4 players but i personally find it best at 2, patchwork is 2 player only. both games are pretty easy to learn and they've been mainstays in my collection throughout the years.
Kapow and Star Realms are great two player head to head games. Both from publisher Wize Wizard Games.
Star Wars Armada. A bit expensive to get into, but really fun once you do. It's basically just a star wars naval warfare tabletop game, and can take 2+ hours to play. Another advantage I like is that the models are pre painted.
