I got a sudden sharp pain whilst playing soccer and then I got a sudden sharp pain, the worst pain I have ever felt in my 31 year old life and I have broken my arm on the same spot ā¦.TWICE in 3 weeks (donāt ask me how, just very clumsyš#AuDHDganggang).
Anyway I get to the emergency room, and the black nurse asked if I had children I said not yet, and the nurse leaned to over to my soccer team mate who helped carry the stretcher and said āimagine if makes a big deal about this pain, what is she going to do when she gives birth?ā.
My whole world shook in front of me, as it stands I am in really bad pain at home discharged after 2 hours,I live alone and donāt have a lot of support in this town and I canāt go back to the hospital because they are still going to send me back home with over the counter medication. They couldnāt do tests on me so they sent me home and asked me to come back tomorrow.
I am not sure how to process this, help?!
Update: I decided that I deserve better and more so I went back and asked for painkillers.
Sorry that happened to you. I would report the nurse for their terrible bed side manners. People need to stop using childbirth as a yardstick for pain tolerance, yes it is painful from what I hear.
I have 2 kids via C-section due to a prior myomectomy so I have no experience with birth pangs, but I sure have had my fair share of pain from my fibroids. The nurse had no right to be dismissive and to diminish your pain. Get well soon. šš¾
