I don’t know why people are surprised that you couldn’t see her much and she can’t mix songs. there’s plenty of videos of her doing professional shows billed as a dj where she has large stage coverage, and even more videos of her djing at smekkleysa where you can hear it’s more of a playlist experience. plus, from the sound of it, shygirl and eartheater had great dj sets, there were a ton of names on the bill.
eartheater wasn’t djing i was up front and there was clearly someone else up there mixing for her, she was just drunkenly screaming into the microphone lol
okay, that alone is worth the ticket price 😅

I paid about $100 a ticket for row three on the Vespertine tour. It was the most I had ever paid for a ticket at the time and it's still the best concert I've ever been to. Now it it costs that much to not see her play other people's records. Shrink-flation is wild.

Considering Bjork was the headliner I found it to be suspiciously cheap…
I saw her perform at The Shed in 2019 during her Utopia tour, that was all seated, no pictures/videos allowed, etc (total opposite crowd/vibe from last night lol) and that ticket was around $500 for a good seat in the 3rd row. So even though I was disappointed last night, I had a feeling it was too good to be true in comparison. Very thankful I’ve seen her live, up close and in the flesh at least once in my life!
I might just be stingy lol to be fair if I was in Brooklyn I’d probably pay too. How long was the set?
She did two sets, one 8:15-9:00 and then 11:30-12:45. Shygirl and Club Shy were my faves. Jlin and Eartheater there too… the set list was posted somewhere here

I saw her in one of the Iceland DJ sets last summer and I thought she was brilliant. The set wasn't always flowing effortlessly but she exposed me to so much amazing music I'd never heard of before. I still listen to many of those songs to this day

I enjoyed it, it was chaotic asf and not what I was expecting but once I got over my expectations lol I enjoyed it. had to sorta forget that i was there to see bjork because it was not rly the vibe i was expecting from bjork.

Sega Bodega was fine, lots more chill. He played Crystal Castles and then I left to go dance more at Animal... and I'm almost 41 ;)

I feel you! We went at 10pm and that’s my bed time these days. I took a nap before and had some espresso & hoped for the best. Once we got there I was fine and it was totally worth it.
I went into it having no expectations. I’ve seen Bjork perform live several times and she puts on amazing show but heard not such great things about her DJing. I went with one of my best friends & fellow Bjork fan who I grew up with. Back in the 90s I went to outlaw parties & I remember going to one under the Whitestone bridge I think. So there was a little nostalgia element at the idea of Bjork & dancing at a party under a bridge that was appealing. With no expectations & knowing there was a good chance it could totally suck I wound up having a great time! The vibe was really good. The location was great & I was happy that I went.
I had the time of my life!! I thought it was the perfect amount of weird, mixing some avant-garde noise with some serious club bangers that I am excited to listen to more. And after reading comments here, I am soooo thankful I paid for VIP since I could actually see her and all of her adorable and strange dancing.

so the stage was set up with crazy leafs and shit and he was hidden behind it the whole time and she didn’t even come out from behind it to say hello or goodbye

the high resolution pics i’ve seen of her that night, don’t look like her at all, the nose and lips are noticeably different from her recent vogue cover.
obscuring the view from most of audience is an interesting choice, i understand we went for music, but she did not speak at all, which yknow you think you’d say “hello brooklyn” to people who paid $100 to be outside in the rain

It was really her, got to see upclose at the vip pit, she kept waving hello to all of us as well and danced to everyone else set behind the stage. she seemed in great spirits

Shygirl was immaculate, my expectations for the bjork set were met because i was told by my girlfriend she’d just be up there fucking around pressing buttons and wow she was right lol

I kinda knew what I was getting myself into but hoped that maaaybe she’d learned how to DJ since I last heard / saw evidence online years ago, but not the case.
Lesson learned: I’ll never spend my time and money like that again for her “DJ” set.

Man I wanted to like shy girl but those transitions… were fuckin not it. Eartheater was 🔥, watched Bjork from VIP and it was adorable but yeah, even for being premixed the blends were pretty harsh often- still glad I got into VIP bc not being able to see her at all woulda marshed my mellow, esp w all the ‘djing’ before and after her set
It’s always been like that... Her having a ball to some weird world / exotica music playlist while hiding behind masks and bushes. On this occasion she charged her US fanbase $100 to listen to car horns. But don’t moan about it - you're probably financing her next album for the rest of us.
