It forces me to wonder if this post hails from a country where it's either taboo or just illegal to talk about reproduction, so it's left up to speculation and half thought through ideas.
Look at their account it will make sense right away
A neighbor of mine is a principle/teacher at a nearby Colony that's a part of the local school division. Any teaching relating to human reproduction or evolution is strictly prohibited, they just tore it from the curriculum. The younger students believe that their parents go to the hospital to "pick up" a baby, like as if they drive to the hospital and they just give them a child. She mentioned that the older students catch on as they get into their teen years, but there's no formal instruction.
She used to teach science at my elementary school too, so she explained that it was shocking and sometimes downroght frustrating that they are so strict about sticking to their religion, and that they aren't allowed to teach kids basic biology.
Wow, so are they also hiding away pregnant people? You only have to be like 3 to understand “mommy has a baby in her tummy.”
Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with colonies besides what I've been told. From seeing colony members around town though, they don't wear revealing clothes. It wouldn't surprise me if the baggier attire hid it well, but they may also have an excuse as to what's happening that they tell the young ones. It's a totally different world.
This colony in particular JUST got their students laptops to help write essays, but besides that the laptops are bricked. There's no phones, no wifi, no television, they don't even have radios due to the concern of outside media influence. There's another nearby Colony that embraces and uses technology to it's fullest and are very advanced, but this first one I mentioned stands out to me.
Yeah probably. I just assumed OP is from one of the parts of America where the church folk handicap your education on purpose in the hopes of increasing retention. Once kids have any capacity at all for investigation, it's almost impossible to keep them the right kind of Christian.
And they specifically target things like sex and reproduction. Unplanned teenage pregnancy is awesome for the churches. They love people who are desperate and have nowhere else to turn. And if you can keep them raising babies instead of going to college, even better.
Not even teaching kids how to Google something.
I recommend reading the Wikipedia entry on this topic.
Yes, it's quite literally the cycle of prepping the uterus for pregnancy and release of an ova.
Ummmm. Absolutely it does. It determines when an egg is released which is when one can fall pregnant. It is its whole purpose
Of course it does
Idk if you are just too young (because of your grammar and the type of question) but if you’re below 10 please get off the phone, social media is not for kids .
And yes, it has a lot to do with. Do try researching more about menstrual cycles and sexual education tho or asking your parents if possible!
The scarier reality is this being a grown adult man and not knowing this. I unfortunately wouldn’t be surprised.
english is not my first languge
Menstrual cycle has everything to do with pregnancy and no the blood in the cycle has nothing to do with the blood of the baby.. the blood in the cycle is the lining of the uterus shedding with an unfertilized egg.
Still not the actual babies actual blood. Placenta is outside the baby as a barrier between mom and baby providing baby nutrients through the umbilical cord within the womb.
Pretty wild stuff
Edit:added 3 words
You are saying the babies blood is period blood, it’s not
You answered my comment with “it does” and you couldn’t understand that uterine lining and endometrium is the same thing as well as saying “the endometrium is the menstrual cycle” which makes absolutely no sense as the menstrual cycle involves ovulation, menstruation etc, it’s not just a body part.
Oh okay that’s cool.
So the blood if not shed, meaning the woman misses her period, becomes the placenta correct? I wasn’t aware of shared blood vessels other than the umbilical cord though?
Sorry just trying to clarify!
Makes so much sense. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! I thought this was a great question for OP even though it’s getting downvoted.
If they don’t teach it in schools well enough and someone asks here we might as well fill up the comments for posterity’s sake!
Yup and np:)
The blood of the mother and the fetus never meet. Nutrient exchange is handled by the placenta. Waste goes through the umbilical blood vessels. But again the exchange is handled by the placenta.
Blood is not shared between mother and fetus.
Oo my bad, thanks :)
The endometrium is the lining of the uterus so yes my comment is correct, also “the endometrium is the menstrual cycle” doesn’t make sense.
That’s what MENSTRUATION is, the shedding of uterine lining that’s not what the entire menstrual cycle is
The whole reason the menstrual cycle exists is for pregnancy... You are most likely to get pregnant during the ovulation part of the cycle, when the egg is released. If you don't have a menstrual cycle, you cannot get pregnant, as no eggs are released.
No, the fetus has its own blood, while the mom has her own blood. The blood of the mom doesn't become the baby's and they do not mix. The fetus grows its own veins and creates its own blood based on the DNA that is decoded in the sperm and egg it was conceived from.
The blood that is lost every month to the menstrual cycle is where the fertilized egg is supposed to attach to the uterus. No egg, no blood needed & the system cleans itself to prepare for the next month's egg, should it be fertilized & implanted.
Don't engage. OP is karma farming or acting in bad faith. Look at their posting history
Why?
How old are you?
Yeah no I don’t think so
The menstrual cycle is from the endometrium, which is what the placenta attaches to.
Wtf?
Yes, the female menstrual cycle is the cleansing of the female. It is a way for the body to release tissue that it no longer needs. The body prepares for pregnancy by the uterus and gets thicker as preparation for nurturing a fertilized egg. An egg is released and is ready to be fertilized and settle in the lining of the uterus. If an egg is not fertilized, the body no longer needs the thicker lining of the uterus, so it breaks down and is eventually expelled along with some blood.
the cleansing of the female
Wording it this way is kind of uhhhh
Simply put, the uterus prepares for the egg from the males sperm and if the egg is not received or if the female is on birth control, which nutralizes the sperm egg, the females body begins the menstrual cycle.
I know how the menstrual cycle and pregnancy works.
The way you worded it seemed to have some kind of spiritual implication. Our bodies don't need to be "cleansed". But maybe you just meant preparation of the uterus for the next cycle - in which case, fair enough. Just very, very odd wording.
The simple act of the menstrual cycle removing the part of liner is a cleansing process. A detox is a cleanse of the body. I can't control how you receive the information. The fact is the body does go through a cleansing process removing harsh or bad cells. That is science pure and simple.
...menstruation really isn't the same thing as a detox.
I didn't state that it was. Provided a different perspective to cleansing the body, which you stated the body doesn't do nor does it need to.
That's. not what I stated
I stated the expulsion of the uterine lining isn't a "cleanse" in the sense that many people will understand that word. It's a word with more of a cultural or spiritual connotation than a scientific one. The lining isn't dirty, it just isn't necessary at that point in the cycle.
I admitted several comments up that the way you meant it may not be the way I read it, and thats fine, I just don't think it's a great choice of words to convey what's actually happening.
It is part of the cleansing process. It helps flush out the lining, which is a cleansing, preparing for the next possible time for the female to receive the next egg.

Unfortunately, that is the process
no
Go out and buy a book. educate yourself. are you three?
Not yours. You won't get pregnant.
Wha- I haven't gone to sex Ed in 8th grade yet and I know it affects it
Questions like this can be asked to Google and Google is significantly less judgemental than strangers on reddit
Well that blood is being shed from the lining of the uterus and leaving the body.

The menstrual cycle is the body preparing for pregnancy, so yes it quite literally has everything to do with pregnancy.
Just before ovulation (the release of an egg from a fallopian tube), the functional layer of the endometrium [ie uterus] goes through specific changes…the endometrial lining becomes thicker and enriched with blood so that it's ready to receive a fertilized egg and also support a placenta—the organ that develops during pregnancy to supply a fetus with oxygen, blood, and nutrients
If conception doesn't take place after ovulation, the build-up of blood vessels and tissues becomes unnecessary and is shed. This is your period.
The schools really are letting our people down
