![Nephew Kyle seeing all the nepotism talk on the internet](https://preview.redd.it/z5rv23go579d1.png?auto=webp&s=6b51cc007816256b4e65c5b22ddd88ece7f7ca5a)
“You know Ryen I just can’t see how Bronny can ever feel good about this. No matter what career he has it will always be because he had a family member handing him a job. That can’t feel good at all. I just can’t imagine that kind of internal shame. Anyway Kyle turn the Tik Tok camera on. Oh and my mic wasn’t on for the first hour of this podcast. Probably should have checked that before we recorded. Oh well.”
“Coming up, Zoe Simmons talks about whatever the fuck she wants to talk about.”
Haha this is good. Hers are some of the worst segments I’ve heard but I’m certainly not the target audience there
Honestly I think what makes it so funny is the juxtaposition between bs’s audience vs the topics she talks about
Yeah idk. It’s not good content but yeah I can see the humor in that.
it's definitely good and underrated content
Perfect time to drop an anti-union rap.

This entire story is funny for Bill to cover being that he employs his nephew and let's his kids podcast on his network.
Couple that with the fact that he comes from the world of Jimmy Kimmel, where Jimmy literally has 75 percent of his family on his staff, and this is quite the tightrope to walk.

What's the NBA equivalent of podcast producer? It's not like Bronny got an entry-level position in the Lakers marketing dept.
Becoming the producer for one of the biggest podcasts in the world isn’t exactly entry-level either.
Yup.
Would be like if Spoelstra had started as Analytics Director for the Heat rather than as tapegrinder no. 1 in the basement of Bang Bros. Arena.
Kyle was a PA, and then at the ringer an errand boy until basically just pushing himself into doing Tates overflow for OSP.
It’s actually pretty similar to Spo,
Because the ringer was a shit show in year 1. Then became huge, PA for company that sold for multi millions isnt like Spo. Spo also grinded for years, Kyle moved up fast.
According to the ringer union Kyle was making almost 40k for his privilege
You're right. Credit to Kyle for accepting one of the most coveted positions in his industry, with little to no experience, for a reduced price. At least he took the opportunity to advocate for other low salary employees and support the union: https://x.com/killakow/status/1262062711879471104
he was kinda flowing tho
At least Kyle is honest about why he got the job. He's not pretending he got there on his own merits, but it seems he's actually doing something good with the opportunity. Almost everyone would try to help their family and friends (provided they're not total fuck ups) get in the best position possible.
Or pull the classic nepo baby “it was actually harder for me because x,y,z.” No it wasn’t harder, it just had unique minor challenges the average person doesn’t
The Austin Rivers piece
Kyle is the best part of the Russillo podcast. And honestly it’s not even close.
Russillo loves listening to his own voice and you can tell anytime he's on a podcast
Glad I’m not the only one who thinks this. I have very mixed feelings on Ceruti, I like him on the pod but I feel like I would hate him if he was my coworker or something. Kyle is just great.
Kyle earned his stripes by now
Probably passable as a professional producer now. Wow that was too many P’s. Elite role player talent though.
Nah, he'll always be a product of nepotism as long as he works at the ringer. He can't "work" his way out of that origin story.
Kyle is awesome. I’d listen to a Kyle pod happily
Hilarious post.
I also noticed most if not all of the Ringer podcasts were radio silent during the whole nepobaby discourse earlier this year when that article came out.
I get it though. Bill makes it no secret his business is a family affair, so I wouldn't want to risk my job either talking too much about nepotism if I worked for Bill Simmons.
Nephew Kyle is a valuable asset in the life advice universe
On today's pod a listener wrote that his 19 yr old golfing pre-law daughter would want a Nephew Kyle cameo
Honestly if I'm the dad, I'm worried even if a big fan
He’s lucky Bill decided to copy Kimmel’s thing of hiring and including his family members in his show
I honestly hope he becomes good and sticks around on his own merit. I can't stand LeBron as a player but I can't help but empathize with his kid. It must suck being shit on this much and most of it is just completely out of his control.
Didn’t he make $9mil last year at 18
I forgot once you make enough money you can't feel bad about being relentlessly clowned on
I do think there is a certain amount where that doesn't matter anymore.
As JK Rowling has said, I'll wipe my tears with my royalty checks
What can’t you stand about how Lebron plays?
I don't think it's fun to watch someone bulldoze his way to the hoop repeatedly
Ok. Makes sense. I agree his style isn’t my favorite. I did enjoy watching him completely take over games in his second run with the Cavs. He’s a very cerebral player.
Ik its 90% jokes but I'm genuinely starting to think nobody knows what nepotism means lmao

The useless goomper who hits record has to be a meritocracy and not the fun casual vibe that makes you enjoy their company due to a lifetime of collegial time spent and shared interests NOOOOOO
It could have been MEEEEE I TOOK THE COURSERA ON AUDACITY REEEEE
