Wos going off on the Kyrie stuff was great

I’m so happy Wos brought up all this bullshit that’s been happening with Kyrie. People can’t just appreciate that Kyrie is balling and keeping quiet with his nonsense. It has turned in to a love fest and owing Kyrie an apology and all this shit. This dude isn’t owed an apology. He’s still an antisemitic conspiracy theorist. He deserved all the shit he got, which looking back on it, wasn’t even that much backlash cause everyone was afraid to comment on it. Exactly two players spoke out, and one of them(LeBron) immediately backtracked. The media was scared to talk about it.

I was just happy to hear someone finally speak on something that’s been getting on my nerves. I’m a Mavs fan, and I see other Mavs fans be like “maybe the Earth is flat”. So I guess fuck the Jews too right. Enjoy his game without acting like he is a victim. He brought all that shit on himself to the point the Mavs got him for two vets and one first round pick, then signed him to a discount contract, in relation to what he wanted.

If Mavs beat Celtics, Bill is going to make it about Luka vs LeBron

I know, "You're getting mad at things he hasn't even said yet"

No, I'm calling my shot. Not angry about it, Ive listened to so many hours/days/weeks worth of Bill Simmons that I already know which moves he's going to make and I'm calling my shot.

I'd the Mavs win, Bill is going to shit in Joe Mazzulla for not playing some guy people have barely heard of much, and then breeze right past anything to do with his Celtics and right into "LeBron couldn't do this as Age 25."

It'll be this Celtics loss isn't that bad because Luka is the best in the league, and then it'll be "Look at the pace Luka is on, he's on track to surpass LeBrons stats, and he's already better than LeBron at this age" and this will end up not being about the Celtics losing but it will instead be about how LeBron is actually overrated. He might even throw in a "Luka is what Larry Bird would be in today's NBA" as a "Hey Larry Bird would've been better than LeBron if he played today" sub message.

I'm calling it now.

Is Real Madrid a dynasty?

Only 6 champions league titles in 10 seasons. They only got three in a row once. Probably just a mini dynasty for now. Think they need at least another four in a row before we even consider it.

Which highly anticipated sports attempt didn’t live up to the hype?Embrace Debate

Title. There were a lot of super bowls in the NFC’s dominant streak that kinda sucked. I remember getting excited with my dad telling me the bills redskins Super Bowl in 92 would be electric but Kelly threw 4 picks and the skins dominated. Marino Montana had a fun first quarter and the niners dominated from then on

What’s an example you can think of?

Bill should have his son on this off-season for a “tiktok brain rot” episode

Just have Ben go off about Skibidi Toilet and and the Rizzler. Maybe we find out Ben has been getting those “Agartha” type meme edits and is super into euro dance music. Just absolutely fry the brains of every non-brain rotted adult listener

Rewatchables: Narration

Been burning through some Rewatchables lately. Love that Bill always prefaces that he hates narration or is “all-time anti-narration” and then always says “this movie I actually like it.”

T2, Goodfellas, Casino, etc. He’s actually all-time pro-narration.

I miss Tea Time

Released on Fridays, it was often my go-to listen the next day during my morning workouts/runs. Nice break from the other pods, served as a palate cleanser, and thoroughly enjoyed Kate, Liz, Amelia, and Kaya's chemistry. Cringe Mode was a great combination of Binge Mode and the Rewatchables. Wish there were something else like it on The Ringer.

Can we get Simmons & Russillo talking historical events?

“Are we sure the Soviet Union is good?”

“The Berlin Wall is what..one of the top 6-7 walls that matter?”

“Was JFK sneaky a good stats bad team guy?

These always crack me up and brought a lot of laughter this way in 2021 in this sub. Thanks for all the fun and laughs.

Jaylen Brown got a massive contract and he played well afterwards. Has anyone else ever done that?

Interesting note for BS today.

JB got a huge contract and rather than get fat and stop caring, he played good basketball.

Makes you wonder, have there been any other players that have gotten max contracts and played good basketball?
