There’s a slightly better light about .6 miles away that is just as wide, but with 3 pedestrian islands instead of 1. On the other light my widest crossing between islands would be 1 less lane, but the extra 2 islands are primarily protecting me from turning cars.
Yea. I would stick to the road though.
How come the road over the crosswalk?
No who you replied to but I would also take the road.
Reasons: 1. I will be where drivers are looking.
Drivers are watching the road and pulling up past the pedestrian crossing to check if they can make a right on red turn.
- It legal.
Take the lane right in the middle. Being off to the side encourages people to overtake you in the same lane which they cannot legally do in most cases.
- Faster
Going straight across in a green will be faster. This way I am not in the most dangerous spot of the road longer than I have to be.
Ditto this. I would be in the lane on 109th, in the lane at the light, and on green just go straight across. Easy peasy, no issues. If I get there on a red light and I’m first in line, I wait near the left side of the straight lane at the stop bar, so that other motorists can still turn right on red behind me.
