Batman is my favourite character of all time, would you say the same?
GENERAL DISCUSSIONHe is my favorite super hero for sure!
But my favorite character of all time?
SOLID SNAKE!
No! That is NOT Solid Snake!
What a pleasant surprise, my brother...
Litterally Batman but uses guns and more autistic.
Nah, batman is a sociopath with severe identity issues who is bound by his moral code, not by his better judgement of empathy in his actions.
Snake is a soldier who follows orders at the beggining and ends up making his own path later in life.
They are not the same.
I think you are overanalising, it was just a silly little comment.
He's a son/clone of Big Boss, the Man who surpassed even The Boss.
All but one version of him.
Which one?
Lucas Fox (for no particular reason)
I discovered comics because of Batman, but I think Nightwing is my favourite comic book character. He is a perfect superhero. Ideal mix of Bruce and Clark.
Absolutely! Cook again brother!
My wife always says that Capt america is my favorite hero. It's more complicated than that, though. It's like 1A and 1B.
1A- Any version of Kevin Conroy Batman 1B- Chris Evans Captain america. It's weird, I know, but I can't really stand any of the comicbook Caps that I've come across. I do like Chris Evans Capt america more than all other batman's except Conroy. When I hear Conroys voice I'm instantly taken back to BTAS and that was my hero growing up.
I pefer Superman or Ash Williams form Evil Dead but batman is definitely up there.
Absurdly based choices my man
🙌🏻
Absolutely my favorite character in all of fiction.
Depends on the version for me
Batman, link from Zelda and Goku from dbz are my fandom trilogy tbh
He's definitely in my top 10
Definitely favorite superhero. I fluctuate between him and another character for all-time. What isn't there to love about Bruce Wayne? He's noble yet brutal, compassionate yet intimidating, but always selfless and sacrificial. His no-kill rule gets a lot of ridicule by non-fans, but it's really the best way for a vigilante to operate. Not only does it give criminals the chance to rehabilitate, but it stops him from becoming a blood-thirsty monster who asserts himself as judge, jury, and executioner. He shouldn't be the one to decide. He's just there to stop bad guys and save innocents.
Also the core design of Batman is just super cool. The pointy ears, spiked gauntlets, and long cape make for such a cool silhouette.
Yes
Batman is my favorite character of all time, though he occasionally loses to Joker. Always one of those two, which is what makes each one my respective GOAT hero and villain.
I'm excited to see Robert Pattinson and Barry Keoghan go fully toe to toe, but I'm even excited for the eventual DCU version. Tbh that one maybe has the most potential for what I'd like to see. James Gunn can use him however he wants with whomever he wants and surprise us.
Do you have a favorite for DCU Batman, or would you prefer another Corenswet-esque unknown like I do?
Yes he is my favorite as well. If Batman’s had a superpower it would be superintelligence. With all the things he has developed from Contingency plans to cures, to vaccines to supercomputers to specialized armored suits to AI systems to anything else.
That and super willpower are also important to thsi discussion. Born a natural-born prodigy amongst William James Sidis level prodigies intellectually he devoted himself to being the Paragon of Vigilantes and Jack of all trades but taking it to the highest degree.
I grew up loving samurai, ninjas, and wuxia films Batman fits into it. I grew up loving science fiction with genius mad scientists who developed miraculous things Batman fits into it as he is a super genius polymathic mad scientist. I grew up loving and watching RDJ and Cumberbatch Holmes as Batman the world's greatest detective. I grew up loving military films fictional or nonfiction and he fits. I grew up loving Lovecraftian cosmic horror mysteries and Batman and Lovecraftian cosmic horror mysteries are made for each other. Shoot he even fits into disaster, horror, and mystical stories.
Batman is the most versatile fictional character of all time with the greatest Rogues Gallery. They work because they represent aspects of him. For example, Ra's Al Ghul is what Batman would be if he killed a super genius polymathic intellectual first and legendary grandmaster-level one-man army warrior second who wants to rid the world of crime, corruption, and pollution. If only the films would remember that past the same old Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, Bane, and Falcone who all have been in multiple film universes.
That depends, is he smart?
One of my favorite heroes of all time for sure.
Comicbook yes.
Favorite character of all-time is quite the sentiment that I'm not sure I can share.
Honestly, hot take, I think Dick Grayson is the best "character" in the Bat family. But obviously I do love me some Batman
wdym
My favorite super hero for sure. Not my favorite character in all of fiction.
For sure
Since I was a kid the thought of a superhero sans powers always interested me. Batman is one thing….he’s bad on foot. Can’t fly, shoot lasers,or pick up a train..but he’s such a badass that he will threaten a guy that CAN. The idea of the worlds greatest detective, tactician and quartermaster fighting for justice and a teaspoon of revenge on top makes him awesome as a character. For intelligence and overall preparedness he cannot be beat…..and he’s just a human being like me,yet possessing superhuman qualities at the same time. He’s the MAN,because he’s just that…nothing but a man.
My choice since the 70s!
Malcolm Reynolds from "Firefly" is my favorite character of all time.
Nah Riddler is better.
Yes, him, Punisher and Rorschach is my favorite heroes
He is no Aragorn, son of Arathorn.
Easily.
Favourite Super hero - Yes
Favourite character - No
Yes my dad was the one who introduced me too the 🐐
Nah I love him but he’s my second favorite superhero to Spider-Man. But that number 2 spot is also tied with Daredevil and The Flash ngl
Yes.
Not every "version" though.
Like, I can't stand this Robert Pattinson self-insert garbage character assassination "interpretation", for example.
But Kevin Conroy Batman?
The best character by a mile.
No...wait...yes!
My all time favorite always. Had a Batman onesie as a baby. He’s literally my day 1.
I prefer man honestly
Is.......is that ar- ...... ARKHAM BATMAN? Gasps
He’s certainly up there for me but no not my favorite
Honestly he’s not even my family member of the bat family
Maybe. Either him for the arbiter from halo
Nah. Nightwing's better.
Batman is up there for me but not my favorite as far as DC characters go. That honor would go to Lobo
My favorite comic book character of all time, but my favorite character of all time would probably have to be Arthur Morgan or, and this is a random one, Caesar from the Planet of the Apes movies
He's my favorite Super Hero but honestly I think my favorite character is Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars.
Favorite Super Hero for sure.
But my favorite character is Jotaro Kujo
Yes, Definitely in the Top 10 favorites. He's got some competition from Spider-Man.
No. He's probably my favourite comic book superhero of all time. But even that is a photo finish with Spider-Man.
I definitely have an obsession with the world of Batman. The whacky colorful characters being used to tell stories about corruption, trauma, and justice. The gothic art deco architectural style of Gotham city. The constant darkness and rain. The 1940s gangsters and old timey guns.
However, it’s hard to find stories about Batman himself as a character that I deeply connect with. I LOVE him in stories that focus on the man behind the mask like Mask Of The Phantasm, where he has other thoughts and desires that don’t just involve punching crime in the face. Unfortunately most of the time he isn't written like that. Most of the time he's written as more of a force of nature who WILL stop the bad guy. He’s a human who has achieved physical and mental perfection. Which works well enough, but I feel like ignoring his flaws makes it very hard to relate to him.
I feel like Daredevil is a better written version of the Batman character. He’s imperfect and self destructive. He gets his ass handed to him every other night. Sometimes he’ll wake up bleeding to death in a dumpster and needs help from a random kind stranger. He often falls to temptation. He feels guilt for the things he does, but still does them. He often has crises of faith in his religion and his philosophy. However when he overcomes these obstacles, it makes his triumph much more satisfying.
Gotta be John Marston for me. Batman definitely the best superhero though
In comics? Well, It can be tough because Spiderman is one of my favorites too, so I can argue in my head.
But if we talk about in all of fiction..Well..That is even more tough. But Batman would easily be in my top 10 list for sure.
Of course
Green lantern fan here.
Man.
For sure! Always been a fan and probably always will.
I named my son Bruce. So yes, I’d say so.
In comic books yes..........otherwise between him,Darth Vader and John Wick
Batman and Obi Wan Kenobi
I would say the same “He is you favorite character of all time “
yes
Honestly, the older I've gotten, the less I like him 🤷♂️
You lie, Harley is your favourite
Second favourite
He's 2nd after Superman in comics.
I find Peter Parker far more relatable.
Idk what this means for me but I find Bruce to be very relatable. Maybe I should get myself checked in somewhere lol.
Fav superhero for sure. Character wise I still love itachi and eren more.
yes. yes. and again, yes. did i say yes? yes? im gonna say it again. YES.
