It's such a joy to me, to see a profoundly disabled animal still enjoying life.
I once had a cat with severely injured rear legs, due to trauma he sustained before I adopted him. Despite his pain and difficulty moving around, he loved to crawl out on the patio, crawl around smelling the various flowers, then lay in the sun and purr as if his world was perfect.
Awww, what a cutie! :) Thank you for not allowing this sweet little kitty to be overlooked or forgotten. Looks like she’s smiling! She knows how loved she is. ♥️
My boy Louie is also blind (underdeveloped eyes removed very early on). I am amazed every day just how "normal" he is. He's actually showed my sighted cat a few things.
My favorite cats are blind cats. Not in a mean way…
My MIL’s cat, Charlie, was blind and was the bravest cat I’ve ever seen. We would bring our two ~100lb hounds to their house during holidays and the blind cat would just walk past them calmly. He could hear them running around and they freaked him out a couple times, but he would still do his own thing like there was nothing to worry about.
He knew where everything was, like Daredevil. He could just jump onto the arm of the couch like it was a normal thing to do when it’s invisible. If he got scared cuz the dogs got too inquisitive, he’d bolt to the stairs and run up. Like how do you know how far they are and in which direction when you’re sprinting?
She actually has done fine with that! We have lived in three different houses and she adapts faster than our other pets. I have a funny video of her walking up and down the stairs while our two dogs just stand at the top afraid to go down.
It's strange I saw this post today, because this morning I groomed a small dog that had it's eyes removed years ago. She's still the same dog she's always been, it didn't change her a bit.
there is a blind guy who can ride a bycicle by making clicksounds with his tongue. he can hear the echo of reflected sound that creates a picture in his head, like bats. i always thought about if blind cats or dogs can adapt as well, if we give them a little box that clicks every second. they got better ears, so technically, it should be easier and they are 3d hunters
Hundred Eyes : The monks of Wudang spend their lives trying to achieve true emptiness. For only when the sage can overcome the self does he enter into the Tao. That is a dark mystery beyond all mysteries, and a gift you gave to me. Blind? I now see the world with one hundred eyes.
“Like other deities of the Greek pantheon, Themis had many symbols, attributes, and patronages associated with her. Physically speaking, Themis was described by Homer as beautiful and having "beautiful cheeks," and she was usually depicted as blindfolded/blind and in possession of a balance or scale.”
She doesn’t really go after snacks but she loves drinking out of our cups of water, and she’s absolutely obsessed with the coffee maker. She dismantles the drip tray numerous times a week.
