The feral cat that lives under my deck left one of her kittens behind. Meet Mr. Meowgi
He’s been inside for 3 days now and he’s loving it!
He’s adorable!
Thank you! You know they say they take after their owner.
Toxo a good parasite, they make you love cat.
I laughed so hard at this comment my phone is covered in spittle
Whoo. Free cat.
I feel like cats aren't something you go and get. The universe provides cats when you are meant to have them.

Oh the shame!
It was payment for lodging 😄
“I show you fewhall!”
Oh my gosh, adorable!!! Congratulations!
I'm very partial to cats with that coloring (I have to whisper that because I'm sitting next to my 18-year-old tortoiseshell lady)...
OMG that’s funny!
If your tortie is anything like ours, you could have shouted that and no one would hear it over her anyway. She's a loud gal lol
True, her purrs are loud plus she's got an assertive meow and then these little chirp noises too!
Silly little kitten.
That name is cracking me up lol
What an adorable scraggly kitten
Ha thanks! He’s awesome!
Hey do you know how old this kitten is and are you prepared for proper care? I’m not an expert by any means but that like a very young little baby. Any plans for vet visit in the near future to ensure he’s healthy? This guy might be r/illegallysmolcats arrest him with snuggles!
He’s about 7 or 8 weeks old. Google was my friend on how to take care of him. I bought some kitten formula and canned kitten food. He was straight formula at first every 3 hours or so for the first few days but now I give him some of the canned kitten food as well and he scarfs it up. He is very energetic and seems happy and healthy. I’m going to schedule a vet visit just to be sure.
Omg awesome! I’m so glad to know Mr Meowgi. Not everyone knows about when kittens can be weaned and bottle feeding when some younger kittens come into their care. After I started watching Kitten Lady on YouTube I realized what can go into their care.
He is very energetic
If you think you can manage it, another kitten would be a good idea. They can wear each other out and teach each other how to cat. They can amuse each other when you're gone.
Of course, every pet is a responsibility and expense so don't do it if it'd be more stress than it's worth. But if you can, it'll smooth some stuff out.
He has an older brother from a previous litter in the house! They play together and you’re right, the little one watches him like a hawk! It’s too cute!
Oh, sweet! That's fantastic!
I'm a bit envious. :)
If his mom is feral then he definitely needs to go to the vet to at least be dewormed, maybe more than once-- worms are passed to the kittens via mom's milk. I learned this after adopting the kitten of a neglected barn cat that got dumped in our neighbourhood, who STILL tested positive for worms 1yr after rescuing her following multiple rounds of dewormer! They are so persistent!!
ETA: Oh just saw your other comment, if your kitten is already playing with your other cat then your other cat almost certainly now has worms too 😅 Ask your vet for dewormer for both of them if they don't immediately suggest it! For future reference, it's generally recommended to isolate new rescue cats from household cats until you can get the new kitty checked out by a vet to prevent possible disease/parasite transmission.
Hello Mister!!!11
I keep reading about all of these people finding kittens that need a home. I really want to find a kitten!
Be at peace…… the cat distribution system is working and will get to you shortly r/CatDistributionSystem
Mr. Meowgi is adorable! May he live long, and get all the love!
I had a Ms. Meowgi (who looked nothing like this little guy) and she was the sweetest, grumpiest, old gaming budy ever (Cat Tax included).
He’s too cute 🥰
Exactly how I got my fur baby. I figure mom was moving the litter and got spooked so she left the runt behind. Never saw her or his siblings. But I got a free son boy, so who's the real winner here?
Mr. Meowgi doesn't seem offended by being left behind.
She thanked you for allowing her to use your space by leaving that little bundle of joy 🥹 to bring into your life.
She left her kitten behind just for you ❤️
He is definitely going to voice his opinion!
I read in the local news that 59 kittens and cats had been rescued from a feces-filled home in Surrey. B.C. While one local newspaper, The Peace Arch News, rightfully deemed this worthy of frontpage space, The Surrey Now Leader didn't give these afflicted animals any newsprint at all. Were these felines and their suffering worth so little?
All of the above basically translate into a whole bunch more feline suffering that has long been already needlessly too high.
Yet, only when their over-populations are greatly reduced in number by responsible owners consistently spaying/neutering their felines, might these beautiful animals’ presence be truly appreciated — especially for the symbiotic-like healthy relationships they offer their loving owners — rather than taken for granted or even resented.
what the fuck?
I feel like I would have stopped letting my cat out if they were doing this...holy shit
Are you sure it was a housecat?
Friends of mine accidentally adopted a bobcat kitten. On their way home one night, they see this kitten in the middle of the road. They stopped to look, & thought it was dead. It started crying, so they wrapped it in a towel & took it home.
Desert bobcats like we have in NV are smaller than northern bobcats, & their fur is lighter. This kitten was like a spotty tabby. It could have been mistaken for a Norwegian Forest or Maine Coon cat. "It had lost its tail". It was also dehydrated, had worms, and was starved. My friends had to bottle-fed it at first because it was definitely not ready to be weaned.
By the time the bobcat hit 4 or so months, they realized they did not have a house kitten. It had already killed a lot of birds in their yard. Inside, it liked to hide and ambush my friend or her husband when either of them walked by. It loved to get on top of their cabinets, and pounce on them from above.
Their vet helped them contact a rescue.
this reads like a HFY story, lol. "humans will bond with anything."
Just curious, could this had become dangerous if it had grown up with them?
Definitely.
Even the smaller wild cats have long claws, and long fangs. With the pounce from above, the 'kitten' was pawing at my friends' faces, and would try to bite their necks.
As an adult bobcat, that would not have been cute and fun. It would have been a trip to the ER.
Thank you for rescuing that cute potato
