For me it’s the “slow car” haters. You don’t need 500+ hp to have fun in a car. The most fun you can have in a car i when you take it to the limit. Small cars with 150-250hp are the creme de la creme.

I’d bet on a 30 year old Jeep with an experienced driver to outperform a mall crawler “Tacoma with 37s” (or a modern mall crawler Jeep, for that matter) and it’s driver who has been on a few dirt roads and “jumped it once” any day. Wheelbase and choosing the right line and technique goes very, very far when it comes to off-roading. Old, stock jeeps can do some crazy stuff in the right hands.
