Replacement for hotend cover?

Hi Guys, Just got my Kobra 2 pro. The first print didn't watch (3rd overall of the new printer) the machine it created a blob of doom and ejected the plastic cover around the hotend. It's printing fine, is this part needed or just decorative and can buy one or just the whole print head?

Should have one. Go to Anycubic website for parts. Amazon is a maybe on availability.

No way just cut the filament and pull it out, I will be good to go

That piece is called a sock. If you search for “kobra 2 sock” you’ll find them.

It's certainly not just aesthetic. It insulated the hot end so it can keep more consistent temperatures. They are available on Amazon. I got a pack of 8 for £6 last week
