Perhaps this is too broad of a question, but what was the belief of the average Roman citizen on life after death? Where did they think their loved ones ended up when they died?
Was there a “good” afterlife for the righteous (heaven) and a “bad” afterlife for sinners (hell), or did everyone just go to the same place?
Did Romans have a concept of an “immortal soul” before Christianity?
Roman religion was influenced by the greeks so they would have believed that the souls go to the underworld, elysium or tartarus.
