probably a stupid question but i have wondered for a while, i have basically no technical talent either, am i cooked
Most of these projects are created with whatever the creator has currently available. Even if you don’t have good equipment what you can always improve is writing skills.
You use what you are able to use. That may sound kinda unhelpful but it's pretty much the way it works. If you have access to a camera and some oldish forest, well you're pretty much set for a series based around that.
You have access to old archival footage, then you can do video collage style.
Writing a good story is what makes a good analog horror. Poor quality art can still make something interesting cool if your story is good enough. That's the key. Technical skill is only enhancement
Stock effects, images, self taken photos and edits. Kdenlive or Davinci Resolve. And YouTube.
just try, i am tweaking my first project right now to make it better. i would suggest laying out a plot and storyboarding how each part goes and then work it out from there
If you need pics of people to work with, try thispersondoesnotexist.com , there shouldn't be any copyright troubles with it
thank u for resurfacing my memory of this site i used to go on it all the time looking for ppl who looked like ppl i knew
Answer, practical effects! I use figures to make my scenes, then use whatever editing app or built in photo editor you have. Use flashlights or colored lights you have, no professional cameras needed, no money needs to be spent for my projects. Feel free to use my was of creating analog horror. Stop motion is a good way to make analog horror. There are plenty of free editing and video making apps.
