Multipitch near Milano

Just because i found Ailefroide to be very crowded last time:

• Lecco has amazing multipitch climbing. Here's the guidebook just for multipitch w/ over 600 pages: https://www.versantesud.it/en/prodotto/lario-rock-pareti-2/ Also absolutely great sportclimbing.
• Val di Masio has epic trad multipitch. Quite alpine. Only one small sportcrag, but amazing bouldering.
• Arco if you want multipitch (and a lot of sportclimbing) in a chilled enviroment. Or if you get rained out in the Dolomites ;)

Everything is a sub 2 hours drive and you can mix it.

Regarding the dolomites: check that you're OK w/ climbing on pitons. I'd bring a hammer and maybe even a small piton rack; depending on the objective.

+1 for Dolomites.  Pretty chill if you avoid the famous peaks.

something off the beaten track , try the the Valcamonica and Adamello.

Sarca valley / Arco if you want to cheap it out. Dolomites are definitely expensive but amazing climbing, it you're solid on trad / bring full rack. Arco in summer is though furnace, you didn't specify the time of the year?

It's more like 3-4 hrs away but I really enjoyed the climbing in the Cuneo area (Castello-Provenzale Group, Rocca la Meja, Corno Stella, etc) and the tourist+climber traffic is pretty minimal (we saw only one other climbing party the whole time). They get the same good weather as Briancon (more reliable than the rest of the alps for some reason) but without the crowds of the french side. We relied on Guliver topos/trip reports and had no real issues. The food+wine in that region is awesome too (Barolo, Castelmagno, Bresaola, etc).
