Mostly just curious, but I also want to know if I'm overreacting.
Nobody in my in-person social circle takes COVID seriously anymore. It makes me uncomfortable knowing the damage they could be causing when they do things like go to super spreader events. I was tolerating it for a while, but I'm losing patience and starting to engage in more CC groups and communities. So I'm always feeling less of a need to maintain any of these friendships. I'm only really tolerating the ones I work with because I don't want any conflict impacting my job.
Once I leave this job, I plan to cut ties with friends who aren't CC by then and rebuild my local social group if I can. Has anyone here done the same or similar?
Yes covid precautions are a boundary I can’t ignore. I stay friendly with some people who don’t care about covid, like may text or hang out with them outdoors occasionally, but I can’t be close with people who don’t care about covid.
