He is and so was JBL. Wrestling needs at least 1 loud dumbass commentator to keep shit interesting.
JBL didn't dance on the table and take away attention from the performers in the ring... But I guess that's what good commentators do.
Pat isn't taking attention away from the performers in the ring. He is acting as a fan would, which not only makes him FAR more natural when it comes to his calls and reaction, but also allows the people watching to feel more connected. "He's acting like and saying the things I would!" He ADDS to the presentation of the performers in the ring. He makes them seem more like super hero's. Larger than life.
When the cameras are on him while he is standing up on the table dancing during a wrestlers entrance, he is taking away attention from the actual star.
He is mid at best. Him acting like a fan is not what I want from a professional product. If I wanted fans on commentary, I would stick to the local independent companies.
How is he taking away from Jey uso by participating in his entrance, even Michael Cole started doing it. If anything he is encouraging fan participation, and it's funny when he does it. It's not like the camera is specifically trained only on him. He adds to the show and it's awesome. He's not overbearing, you can feel his joy and passion, that's what's most important to me, not "professionalism."
