This might be a dumb question, but did we just have an earthquake?
I didn’t feel anything
Me either I didn’t feel it
Same! I live smack dab in the middle of the city and didn't feel shit. I work from home and Teams started blowing up with my coworkers asking about it. It's weird that like half of us didn't feel it? Maybe related to building construction?
I'm WFH today, and live in an 80 year old house. I didn't feel it, and I doubt it's because my house was built to withstand earthquakes. My coworker who's in Framingham felt it. My sister in NYC definitely felt it, and her cat freaked out.
if your 80 year old house is anything like my 80 year old house, probably just used to a little sway ;)
My standing desk just shook a little bit ago and I just thought it was a big gust of wind that hit the house or something. Hope that was just a once-and-done type of deal.
We feel one around here every so often, I remember one 10ish years ago in Virginia that was felt all the way up in Montreal even.
In Burncoat, was walking my dog at the time, according to the timestamp on the news. Didn't feel anything, kinda disappointment.
I heard a thump east of Worcester, my family in southern RI said it sounded like a train going by
My house in Pawtucket was shaking like crazy. You could definitely hear a rumble too
Yeah! My room was shaking and I’m like damn, that’s some strong wind lol
I thought it was my brother gaming 😂😂😂
Gaming or gaming.. 😆
That's bizarre. We're nowhere near a fault line.
New Jersey has had an uptick in earthquakes in the last 20 years.
Sorry folks, the pizza I had for dinner last night caught up with me. My bad.
Let me know what you got from where so I can keep my BF from it, lol
I live in an area of central MA with no good options unless I drive at least 30 minutes in one direction or another. I got really good at making my own and for like $60 or less you can make your own wood-burning pizza oven but even in my own oven things aren't bad.
Lately I've been playing with a lot of different fake cheeses and some are really not that bad. You have to pair them right - so like making a lactose-free white sauce and covering it with options like Miyokonos, Reine, and even Chao fake cheeses - just be sure to buy the BLOCKS and not the pre-shredded for best results.
...But last night I went full asiago because I got the liquid lactaid pills that work a lot better than the old kind. ...I just forgot to keep taking them as I was eating and, uh, yeah. Farts.
Just a glitch in the Matrix, here's your blue pill. 💊
Felt it here too
I felt it! My whole house was shaking
I thought it was snow falling off the roof
Same! But it wasn't loud like it has been in the past..
I just felt it! It looks like it hit NYC too, judging by Twitter posts
I didn't notice anything.
Yep! Noticed in Worcester and just heard my mom yelling about it
What time did this happen?
Maybe 30 minutes ago.
Confirmed 10:30am ish
I felt it. I just suddenly felt like I was rocking back and forth and I really just thought it was me, but then it sounded like a hard wind suddenly hit the side of my apartment building and I realized the floor and walls were shaking. I joked to myself, "What are we having an earthquake now?"
Yeah... yeah we were!
Yes we did, and I felt it too. At around 10:30 this morning.
Rumbles were reported up and down the East Coast.
I was sitting at my desk working on the computer and I felt the floor shake, desk shake (side to side), computer wobble. At first I thought, “Am I imagining this?” But no, it was a real earthquake.
Then I thought it might be from a nearby blast, which sometimes causes earth-shaking--but I didn't hear a blast.
I just tuned into YouTube a few minutes ago and heard the reports from NJ, NY and Philly.
Didn't feel shit but an Earthquake hit New Jersey.
Others felt it but I had so much caffeine in my system I was shaking too much to notice the world shake around me.
You mean planet earth just achieve orgasm and we residents didn’t feel nada!😥
I didn't feel anything up in the hills
Oh, thank you! I thought I was going nuts! Lol...
I'm home sick, and my bed started wiggling. I actually took a sec to see if I was shaking! Lol...
I thought NJ/NYC would be too far to get to us..
Westfield denizen here; we felt it, too!
There was a significant earthquake in New Jersey… I heard it could be felt in Connecticut and parts of Mass
Probably just heavy footed mfers walkin round they house swearin they felt the earthquake bffr
I'm in NY and that shit was scary. shook my whole building for like 10 seconds.
DONNNNNNNT LEAVE ITS MY FAULT!!!
I felt it in Providence, RI.
I thought it was the snow sliding off my roof
Yeah my room was shaking. Lol.
That was crazy
Did not feel a thing.
So that is the gentle rocking I felt an hour ago! I felt some slight motion but I’m working from home today and thought it was my toddler jumping around upstairs….
I grew up in Los Angeles and also lived in SF Bay Area so lived through many earthquakes.
I thought it was the upstairs neighbors having sex again but this earthquake reached us all the way from New Jersey. I gotta dust off my Bible and start praying more, this ain’t normal! Did you guys see how Taiwan was EQ hit a few days ago?
Didn’t feel anything in Hudson.
I felt a slight shake and was wondering what it was. I knew I wasn’t crazy when I heard about the earthquake in NJ.
My parents felt it and they live around Clark University
My friend a street over felt it but I didn’t. Must have been a thin line or something
Probs woulda slept through it if my cat hadn’t freaked out and woken me up right before it happened. The house shook a bit and the shelves started rattling for maybe 15-20 seconds before it stopped. I remember thinking, “that couldn’t be an earthquake, this is MA. Must be some crazy wind,” then going straight back to sleep.
I thought I hadda brain tumor until I confirmed all my neighbors felt it too 😭
Felt it here for a brief few seconds.
NW of Worcester, I felt it.
I assumed it was the T
I slept through it, but I woke up to a shit ton of news alerts on my phone about it.
I had the Roomba doing its thing and didn't notice it or thought nothing of it. If I can't differentiate you from a Roomba bumping around the house, you're not an earthquake.
Solar eclipse same as year 1811
Ok. Not what I expected, but did not disappoint!
I have toyed with the idea of a pizza oven a couple of times, but I'm not the best chef. Or even good, so I've never actually built one. So for now.. a dream... :)
4.8 hit NJ...we felt it alright
