I'm rewatching the finale episodes and I hate how Justin and Max are treating Alex when she risked everything to save their friends. It's not like she was reckless and pulled another prank that she's known for, it was a truly selfless act. I get the stakes are the highest they've ever been because it's the last episode, but it feels over the top to me. It's weird to see Max hating on Alex since he's basically the comedic relief and never seems to know what's going on, but Justin, who I usually love, really taking it far. He's had plenty of conflict with Alex over the series which they've always resolved, but he really took it to another level this time, even though I'd say he redeemed himself in the end, I just hate that it got that bad. It was really surprising to see both guys treating her badly and how far it got dragged out.
There’s one thing I’m curious about. Professor Crumbs later said that the Griffin was actually part of the Wizard competition. So what exactly would’ve happened if the trio hadn’t decided to go after it?
They wouldn't have passed the second part of the competition
I wonder if Crumbs has a grudge against the Russos for some reason. At multiple points he rigged events so the Russos would lose for whatever reason. He essentially tricked Alex & Justin into revealing magic and then putting them on trial for it, something that was HIS fault to begin with.
Yeah I feel kinda similar, the way i always justify it to myself is that max always just goes along with whatever someone else thinks so he was just following justin. For justin I choose to think that he fully believed that it would work out maybe having knowledge about the griffin and knowing that zeke and harper wouldn’t have been digested if they got them later since they were pretty much fine when they did get there, and with the power of a full wizard whoever would have gotten there would have been able to deal with it in seconds. It’s still messed up to prolong saving them with the potential for endangering them but i think with his knowledge of monsters he probably just thought they would be fine. It’s also I think partially to reflect what happened with jerry and his siblings but in the end it resolved unlike the relationship with aunt megan
