It’s actually really sad that the bear is willing to accept that much pets.
Eventually he will get big enough to be dangerous, and he’ll still be fully habituated to humans. Habituated bears don’t have a great life expectancy, especially in cases like this one where he probably doesn’t really know how to be a bear in the wild. He will almost certainly have to be euthanized.
Yeah, this. I just read about that bear guy, who used to travel up north to “study” bears but he was really feeding them a lot and getting them unsafely used to his presence.
He and his girlfriend ended up being torn apart by them.
When the rangers came to check on them, the bears who approached them all got shot on sight :(
You should look up the interview Werner Herzog did with the Grizzly Man's mother if you want an extra layer of sadness.
When Timothy and his girlfriend were killed by the bears, they had a camera running that was knocked over, but the whole thing was recorded as audio.
It was given to the mother, and she'd never listened to it. But she let Werner hear it. The look on his face, even partially obscured, has stuck with me for the last 20 years.
I don't remember his exact words, but it was along the lines of:
"You must never listen to this. I think you should destroy it."
This has to be a rescue right? I mean my dumb monkey brain sees cuddly doggo but the lizard brain knows “brown lie down.” I wouldn’t tell him either way, whatever happens happens if I can boop the snoot.
You can’t convince me that’s not a dog bear. It’s doing exactly what dogs do and pushing another dog away for attention. This was an adorable video and I’ve been having a really hard day, so this helped!
i think a reliably tame pet bear would almost be cooler than a dog. of course provided it loses most of its wild animal habits/instincts that could be dangerous for the owner
Serious, curious question: how strong and deadly can a young bear like this one be? Could he actually do great damage to any of those dogs or a person? Everyone is talking about him ripping them apart when he gets big or if mama bear comes over, but I'm wondering if the little bear is so harmless in the first place?
After seeing this I kinda want both. Imagine waking up to your dog and bear sneaking into the pantry, stealing the peanut butter, getting busted and pretend it was the other one who did it.
Imagine an adult bear the size of a Dog, like maybe Pitbull sized, and acting just like a dog if treated correctly! That would be so cuddly and sweet, ngl!
This feels like when they show Superman growing up around human children. It’s all fun and games at first…. until he gets older and, one day, throws a baseball through the catcher’s glove and blows his chest out.
I like how it goes into pet it and at the last minute when it puts its mouth open he remembers it's a bear
