A weird note i found dropped in a parking lot
it's not weird, it's somebody working our their shit on paper.
sounds like someone went through war trauma and has ptsd.
have some compassion, there but for the grace of god etc
I'm not sure why thinking something is weird means I don't have compassion. There's a homeless guy by my house that I offered some slippers to and and he said "I like my bare feet to connect to the earth" then asked if I thought computers would be around for a while. Both those things are weird but I still grab him food sometimes from the 7/11.
And, I certainly don't have any idea what the guy who wrote this went through, and I don't want you to think this is flippant, this is a sincere question, how much compassion are we expected to have for war criminals? War IS killing and destroying property by definition, so if those are normal in war, then the things that are considered crimes are especially horrific.
well, you posted it on /weird then said it was weird, so that stood out.
yeah, there's a lot of mental illness in the world, thanks for being nice to folks.
I read the note not specifically as a confession of having committed war crimes, but more expressing the horrors of witnessing or being a victim of warcrimes.
we have a lot of refugees from conflict countries, many have experienced horrible things.
I honestly hadn't considered it was written by a victim rather than someone who did these things. That's probably worth thinking about.
What's weird wasn't necessarily that someone was sorting these things out in a journal so much that I found it in a Michaels parking lot
Well, my VA hospital has an arts and crafts room in the mental health side of the hospital, and it IS a therapeutic approach to PTSD and survivors guilt. Its a way to help veterans to find their self esteem and purpose in life again.. Believe it or not, theres a lot of us who do crafts to deal with PTSD.
This is the fourth Paint By Number I have done this year. I also do resin art.
You might like the app Happy Color, it is an app version of paint by number pictures. I use it on my iPad when I’m relaxing. It’s free, there are some ads but they’re mostly unobtrusive.
I like holding the brush and actually painting something, but thanks for the offer!! I do really appreciate how kind and thoughtful that was of you. 😊
My brother has PTSD from war crimes he witnessed when he was stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. He had to watch children forced to stand in the middle of the road by the Taliban in hopes that their convoy would stop so they could attack them. War looks a lot different when you’re behind a rifle and someone is trying to kill you.
He was a good kid with bad grades and saw the Army as a way to afford college. He had no idea he’d end up in the Middle East fighting a war. Have some perspective and compassion.
So in other words, you dont have compassion for drafted Vietnam war veterans because in your opinion theyre all reckless killers, who arent simply shocked about the realities of war, just trying to survive.. . You are expected to have enough respect to not sit there and treat people like crazy people, all because they have seen more shit than you could possibly live one day with.
Its cold. Its destructive. And yes, its judgmental. And all you are doing is trying to garner likes by posting someone's personal PTSD struggle on here.
Thats SAD..
As for the homeless guy, feeling the grass beneath his feet keep him GROUNDED.. I know you probably dont understand ANY of this, and I am SO GLAD FOR THAT, since you cant even handle seeing therapy notes without having this weird reddit freakout over it- but grounding is something people with PTSD and, in the case of the homeless man, (No different from Alex Jones) likely Paranoid Personality Disorder.
But sit there and exploit it for the likes.
Chaos and Destruction is the devils work. Ijs.. You need to reach UP to God and find your humanity.
