Ignore the haters. As someone who is actively in search of a minivan to go vanlife full time, this bus looks large and luxurious. That is a cool little home on wheels.
just out of curiosity...what do you do for work? do you have a plan? the temptation and curiosity for me to go full-time vanlife and go off the grid is very strong sometimes. but reality is reality. there are costs to doing it.
I'm semi-retired. I have accumulated a few licenses to allow me to work, as required and in the future. IE: bus/ coach drivers license, security license, etc.
My plan is to go full-time in a mini van for a year or two. If I like it, I would move into a box truck and renovate it. I also plan on buying land in a rural area. I will put a THOW or a garage there to hunker down in the coldest parts of the year if I cannot get to Vancouver for the winter.
hope it works out! I'm taking a licensing exam at the end of July. If I don't pass, I'm seriously considering moving out of state to somewhere in the midwest or something where land is abundant. It seems like a better place for someone to live outside all the noise of modern life. As long as I can buy a lot of land and park a camper on it I'll be fine for the short term
I think getting out of big urban areas is key. The key for some peace and as a potential defensive move. I really want to experience as much of Canada (and the USA) as possible. Also, if we are heading to an economic collapse or a SHTF event, things will go south in big cities the most.
