Not sure if it's related, but after closing my agency account, I get more interviews and hires!
Everyone should read this twice.
We should all read it 100 times
Hmmm, I was really considering closing my agency account. I’ll once I close up all the contracts under the agency.
Interesting. I'll cancel my agency because it hasn't brought any opportunities since. Thanks for this post
Thank you for this post! I needed this
Really??
I mean.. I've been building my agency in the past 3 year-ish I guess. Everything's went ok for me and I just feel this and last month is kinda dry, is it because of the agency thing or because the quality jobs is decreasing?
As I said, not sure about that. But I have 2 red flags from my personal experience by having Agency.
I tried searching my name on Upwork Talent pool with Talent Type Freelancers and didn't show up. But if I set Talent Type with Freelancers & Agencies or Agencies, it showed up. That means Upwork see me as an agency entity even though I'm not an agency exclusive freelancer.
More and more job posting with description Freelancer only or No agencies on my niche.
I believe there are 2 types of clients: client who prefers freelancer only or client who is fine with either freelancer or agency.
The kind of client who prefer agency only is very rare I guess.
Interesting find, is there some ways that I can pause my agency account or I have to close it permanently? Thanks for the explanation though, appreciate it
I don't think there is any way to pause.
I had to withdraw all money, proposals, and asked my clients to close the contracts under the agency account. Then I could close the agency.
I see some people have agencies and are doing well. But do you mean even while you were applying as an individual you didn't got hires and after closing the agency it was getting better?
Yes. I am one-man Agency.
It's related. Most clients will choose an independent freelancer over an agency one all things being equal, and many won't touch an agency freelancer at all.
